Do you/did you have a recurring dream?

luvmykids wrote: Another post got me thinking about this one. (I guess I'm chatty today!)

I remember as a little kid, probably 3ish, having these dreams where I'd start to go down a set of stairs and miss a step and then just fall over and over all the way down. But not in a painful way, a scary floating way but I never got to the bottom.

And I always had nightmares about Scooby Doo. I won't even let the kids watch it b/c they were so bad!

moped replied: I have the same sor tof staircase one - n ot painful either!

luvmykids replied: I still have to take a little breath before I head down, especially if they're at all steep.

Daisymom2 replied: For about 20 years now (i'm 33 now) I have had this same dream at least 3 times a year. It feels the same, it looks the same, it's so strange. I wish I had one of those dream interpretation books.

So my dream is that i'm standing on this cliff, only about 12 feet high and i'm looking over this huge pool of big fish that are swimming around.. And it's an eerie feeling. And that's it. Makes no darn sense but I have that exact same dream over and over and over again!

Edward's Mommy replied: I used to have dreams about being molested or raped. I was 3 when I had these dreams. My husband doesn't think they were dreams.

MamaJAM replied: I had this awful dream starting way back that I was in this strange bedroom and this man wearing a mask breaks in through the window. Just as he gets near me - I wake up. On rare occasions - I still have it...but not nearly as often as I used to.

CantWait replied: Before I met Ron, I use to have this dream that I was pregnant and being chase by some forgien army on my way to a doctors appointment. A Canadian convoy picked me up and brought me to the door of the building my doctor was in.

Do ya think this dream meant I was going to meet my soldier, and my hero rolling_smile.gif

holley79 replied: I had one from when I was 4 till I was about 6 about my great great grandmother being in the room with me then she would turn into a shadow and disappear. Every morning that I would wake up I would call my aunt's house to make sure my granny was still alive. I'm suprised she didn't have her number changed. dry.gif

CAMSMOM1 replied: Every night I have vivid dreams, and remember most of them. (Monica, were you reading my post when you wrote this? wink.gif )

I'll just name a few. I have a dream where I feel my teeth are loose, and they start to fall out. I try to catch them and p/u the pieces of my teeth. And it's so real, and very painful.
(I learned that this means I'm going through a change, and have a lot of things in limbo, and I'm trying to keep it all together. )

My other dream is I'm fighting off demons. They are trying to come after me, and I have the Bible in my hand, and I'm trying to cast them away in the name of Jesus, but the words won't come out. Right before they get me, I wake up. I've had that dream more times that I can count.

The last dream, I'm looking over and edge of a mountain, and it looks beautiful. I start to peer over, and I slip and fall. I'm hanging on the side of the mountain by one hand. When I look up, I see a bright light. And a man's voice, calling to me. His voice is very soft and reassuring. He reaches out his hand to me, and I can never grab it. I try hard, and cry out to him, and then I fall. I wake up before I hit the ground. And the whole time I'm falling, I'm looking up into the light.

I usually talk in my sleep, sometimes even cry in my sleep. My dreams are so real and vivid, I wake up exhausted.

CAMSMOM1 replied: EdwardsMommy~ I have had the same dream. And I wanted to let you know, I'm here for you and sending you a PM.

CosmetologyMommy replied: I used to have a recurring dream too but I haven't had it in awhile. I dreamt that my mom was the moon and I had to climb one of those rope ladders to get to her and I could never make it.

~~*Missi*~~ replied: i haven't had this dream in a long time but I remember having it when I was a kid CONSTANTLY....
It was my mom, gram, sister and I driving down the lasalle expressway and just driving off the side off the road for like NO reason. And well I was the only one to make it and they ummm "lost their heads"......
The only thing we could account it to Mom and I. Is she worked with a gentlemen who was so nice to my sister and I and well that is how his wife died and although I didn't read or see this story I remember ease dropping and hearing it.

Other then that I have recurring dreams about a ex but they usually aren't the same and my husband is in them and they are fighting over me. Which is SO odd cause well they have never ever met. WIERD

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yes, I do have recurring dreams. tongue.gif

One is where I'm back in high school and I've somehow managed to screw up my schedule and not go to one of my classes for several MONTHS. I just show up one day and my teacher tells me that I have so much work to complete before he will graduate me. unsure.gif Scary. emlaugh.gif Really it gives me so much anxiety..this dream. I really feel as though I'm there, skipping out on classes and about to fail my senior year. What a relief to wake up and be me again...no school, only kids and a DH to worry about. rolling_smile.gif This dream means something...I checked it out one time in a dream book. happy.gif

And the other one I have is where I'm being chased by the cops. Not really chased b/c I don't run from them, but I have a lot of dreams where I'm being pulled over...constantly. wacko.gif

TeagansMom609 replied: For the past maybe 5 years or so I keep having dreams that people, usually a family member stabs me. It's horrible. I tried figuring out what the dreams meant but all of the dream books Ive read say something completely different. Those books are such a sham. dry.gif I have such a fear of knives it just figures I have dreams like this. Im so scared it just a warning that im going to die that way.

luvmykids replied:
For a long time I had one that I was at the gas station I used to use every day and someone was beating me to death with a tire iron. I was so convinced it was a warning, I still haven't gone back there!

Kaitlin'smom replied: Yes I do have one in particular, sorry I cant share it way to personal.

Bee_Kay replied: The dream that I absolutely hate is:

I'm being chased by something (I never see what/who it is) and I am running up a flight of stairs or a long hallway.

On the stairs, I run and run, but make no progress.
In the hallway, I run so hard and fast, yet can't reach the end of it.
