Do you ever "google map" yourself - and look at the street view?

Here's one to get you started tongue.gif

Empire state building

Be sure to click "street view" Some places (like my street) aren't mapped yet. But a lot are!!

stella6979 replied: Jeff is obsessed with google map!!!

luvbug00 replied: just creeps me out somone can see my home that closely

Crystalina replied: I don't come up on there. We use Google Earth all the time and my entire road shows up as nothing but trees. happy.gif

Calimama replied: You'd think it wouldn't work since we live on a base. Real safe. dry.gif

I agree, a little creepy, but it's still fun. I google everyone I can think of usually. tongue.gif

Tim's parent's house looks a lot different. He's been stripping the porch since before winter (by hand w/a heat gun). He thought he'd get it done BEFORE winter, but didn't so he had to stop. He's about finished now. The picture was from BEFORE that, so I'm thinking like last summer!! And his sister's car is out front, so that means she was living because it's a day time shot and her's is the only car, so I'm thinking after July-Sept. emlaugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied: yes I do that sometimes but you can't real close to my town tongue.gif

TeesaŽŠ replied: Google Map is about 4 years behind. Our house on it doesn't even have a driveway, and it was finally put in 4 years ago - 2 months after we moved in.

Our Lil' Family replied: Yes, it's way behind for us too. It doesn't show our patio that we had done in Sept 2003!

mommymommy replied: LOL..yes it's fascinating lol

msoulz replied: I find this really interesting, yet creepy all at the same time. huh.gif

Google hasn't made it to our city yet, or at least not where we are. It seems very spotty around here - some of the city of Detroit is there and some not. I wonder how they choose what they will put on the site?

Kirstenmumof3 replied: ohmy.gif I didn't even know you could do that!

mckayleesmom replied: OMG....thanks alot Grapfruit.....I now have a new obsession...yesterday I "drove" around the town I use to live in....LOL. rolleyes.gif

holley79 replied: Yes we have done it plenty of times here at work. It's kind of neat looking at your old addresses you grew up at also.

TLCDad replied: Please note everyone that google map is not the same as google street view. Google Map (Earth) is satelite images but street view is literally a van that drove down your street taking 360 degree photos where it looks like you are actually walking down the street looking around.

holley79 replied: We use maps.live.com for maping here at work. They aren't 100% up to date but if something has been there a while we use it so we get a relative idea of what things are.

luvmykids replied: We're finally on the map, but no street view. Probably because I live out in the country smile.gif

eta: I noticed on the Empire State Bldg that it said "removal requested", I wonder who wants it removed and if it will stay or get taken off?

HuskerMom replied: I found my house, that creeps me out.

mckayleesmom replied: Just wanted to add that if you couldn't find your house the first time or you think they didn't get your street...If you try an alternate route you might be able to find it.....My old house I couldn't find at first....so I went down side streets and stuff....and I finally got to it. Sometimes it doesn't even have your address...just a proximity....but you can try alternate routes and possible find it.

I had alot of time on my hands last night... rolling_smile.gif I couldn't sleep.

redchief replied: Along with the others mentioned, MSN also has a whole different view. I don't think the pictures are any different, but the compilation is. And yep, I've looked. biggrin.gif
