Do you give your kids Valentine's gifts?

CantWait replied: Yes, I usually get a small box of chocolate.
This year Robbie is getting chocolate and Anthony is getting one of those dancing singing stuffy things. I'm also sending them cookie grams that the resource is selling.
coasterqueen replied: my mom would give us candy and my dad would either give us a flower or some little piece of jewelry - nothing expensive, just a cheap piece of jewelry, but it was very sweet.
ETA: The girls usually just get candy from us and sometimes a little trinket.
mom21kid2dogs replied: We usually get a small something for Valentines Day.
skinkybaby replied: Yup. We give her some candy and a present
Boo&BugsMom replied: Yes, something small.
lisar replied: Yes I do. I normally buy Lexi some of those little things she likes that are her fav. character. With all the chocloate. And I normally give her a little card. She likes it. Raygen not yet. She would just make a mess with it. But maybe next year.
Jamison'smama replied: Yes, daddy gets Jamison something and I get Jack something...for sweetheart's day Jamison has recieved a Valentine Barbie before, this year she is getting an inexpensive butterfly necklace.
I have no idea what I am giving Jack...probably some paint with water books.
MoonMama replied: My family tends to go over board, but Valentine's is one of our favorite holidays.
My parents always gave my a teddy bear or some other animal, candy, some kind of other trinket and my daddy always gave me a new sterling silver heart necklace with something sweet engraved on it (they also started doing these things when they adopted my little sister. They also gave her a new charm that represented something from her birth country (China) for her carm bracelet. (she is their only adopted child.)) My daddy also gives my sister and I a dozen roses, 6 white and 6 lavender each year (and my mom but she gets red roses). (He also gives us roses for our birthday's always pink one's 1 for each year of age...15 = 15, 20 = 20 and so on.) But at some point I had to nix the teddy bear...with the 2 Christmas bears (I still get these), and Easter bunny they gave me every year and the fact I couldn't let even one of them go, boy they started adding up.
They gave my brothers candy, a bear, and a t-shirt.
Them my oldest brother always gives all the women in the family 3 roses...2 white and 1 red, 1 meaning "I", 2nd meaning "love" (the red one), and the 3rd meaning "you". And takes us to lunch.
Braedin will get some cute little gifts every year too, from both DH and I and my parents. This year everyone is spoiling him (have I mentioned he is the 1st grand child for my parents?). So far DH and I have gotten him a onesie that says "Loved" from Old Navy, a bib that says "Baby's 1st Valentine's", and a bear, and I know we are not done yet. Esp. DH he goes way, way, way over board. One of the things he does for me every year is breakfast in bed complete with flowers in a cute Valentine's vase. And my parents wont tell em what they have gotten him but that is "so neat". Oh and Nana and Papa got him a bib the other day that says "heart breaker".
We are also giving everyone little Valentine's from Braedin. I got little Valentine's day cards (but I can't for the life of me remember what is on them), little candies, I'm going to take Valentine's pictures to give with them, and the grandparents are getting a heart shaped plaster foot print.
Ok my reply just turned into a noval, sorry. Can you tell we love Valentine's?
kristy-n-chad replied: I jump at any chance to give gifts!! So, yes Noah will get something small. Abram might get something next year, he is still too little.
Calimama replied: Oh yeah, she gets something for every holiday.
sparkys2boys replied: Yup, we give the boys a little something and a card every year. We dont go overboard on this holiday.
Old Mom Hubbard replied: I will be baking a special treat, a gluten free/wheat free brownie JUST for him, so he can have a slice warmed in the microwave after dinner with a dab of vanilla soy ice cream!
He loves chocolate but now that he is older enjoys it when he only has it once in a long while and as a special treat.
When he was younger we would share cards and candies but as he grew we did not celebrate the day as much and hardly at all the last couple of years...But I still like to get him a little something.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Absolutely! Emilie has gotten some cheap trinkets to put in the dress-up drawer, she loves it! We're cheap though... I have tons of old fake jewellery my mom gave me a while back... so I give Em pieces of that instead of buying them all the time.
Zacharie gets new coloring books, new markers, some stickers.
Naomie, last year, got her pictures taken... lol
We usually get them some chocolate too. The little foil covered hearts from Walmart, give them each one per day for the whole month. February is the month of love.
luvmykids replied: I do what my mom did (and still does) for me, just little odds n ends picked up through the month, heart stickers or a cheap bracelet or a cute book. On V day they get some little trinket type thing, a cute basket or tights with hearts on them or something. My mom is making both of the girls jumpers to wear, we're making giant heart cookies for everyone and of course they're exchanging cards with the kids at school.
