Do you have any plants? - Do they survive? lol

Hillbilly Housewife wrote: I have exactly 2 plants in my house. One is this great big tree-like plant, and the other is a leafy-cactus thingy.

I have these 2 little tiny plants that I put in baby food jars, but I think they're dying... dry.gif

My garden is very nice though. It was there when we moved there in October, so I didn't have anything to do with it... there are these lovely rose bushes there, but I think they're dead..they're brown and not blooming. ll!!

Guess I need to prune it down to see if there's any green left inside.... huh.gif

I'd LOVE to have more plants, they just don't seem to survive when I DO have them!

Does anyone know what kind of nice plant I could get that can prety much live on it's own?

Kaitlin'smom replied: sorry cant help you, I dont have any indoor plants with 3 cats they would never last! As far as outdoor plants I just have some bushes that live on there own, I do need to cut them back. I also have thoes flower plants that bloom around memorial day (dunno what they are called) they die every fall and come back every spring so I dont really do anything with them.

sorry I am just not much into plants right now................

MommyToAshley replied: I have what they call a brown thumb...LOL Actually, I just forget to water the plants. I even killed a fake plant. I put it too close to the furnace vent, it got too warm and the plastic kinda drooped and the leaves all fell off. sad.gif bawling.gif

sorry Dee Dee to funny, I never thought anyone could kill a fake but, but I guess anything is possible!

maliksmommy replied: My DH bought me a rubber plant for Mother's Day. I am glad you brought this up I need to water it. It's been a few days~I always kill our plants but supposedly these plants are hard to kill but I am sure I can do it biggrin.gif

booey2 replied: I used to keep plants in the house, but now with kids I don't. It is not the plant I was worried about, more the dirt that my kids like to put in their mouths. All my planting occurs outside now.

5littleladies replied: I have 2 plants and I never ever remember to water them-the only reason they are still alive is because my 5 years old loves to use her watering can-she asks me at least twice a day if she can water the plants. I wish I could give you some ideas but I also have a brown thumb. tongue.gif

ashade75 replied: I just have two of those hanging basket (viney) things. When they turn brown I water them.

Yep, my sis is the only one I know that can kill a plastic plant. Leave it to DeeDee!! hahahahahahaha rolling_smile.gif

supermom replied: Any kind of catcus survives well with very little care - I know, cuz anything that takes any kind of attention doesn't survive long in our house, but I've got a couple of cacti that I've had since my oldest was a baby, so they're 18 years old and believe it or not, still alive!! You don't have to remember to water them often, and I always tell everyone they don't live because of me, they live in spite of me!

MomToMany replied: laugh.gif I have NO plants in my house, because no matter what I do, they always die! Now, I do have about 5 lilac bushes that we planted last year that are still growing, so that's encouraging laugh.gif !

MommyToAshley replied:
thumb.gif Lilac bushes.... I love the smell of them. sun.gif I just wish they would bloom longer.

MomToMany replied: thumb.gif Me too! They're not going to bloom this year, but probably starting next year wink.gif !

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Whew... I'm glad I'm not the only greenery challenged one here. I'd LOVE to have lots of plants in my house...my grandmother's house has 12 plants just in her LIVING ROOM! The air smells so different there, I love it! My cat's not that big of a plant eater...so it's not because of the cat that my plants keep dying.

Although I'm doing pretty good with this one plant I picked from outside. I put it in a decorated baby food jar last week, and it,s double diun height and # of leaves.

Although I think it's probably a weed.
