Do you play the lottery?
MommyToAshley wrote: I am in the "once in a while" category when the jackpot gets big. But, I have horrible luck, I am not sure why I play. I should get something for playing the most times without getting a single number correct!
dolfinrse replied: The only time that we really play is when the jackpot gets big.
ashade75 replied: Only when its big. I did go to bingo 2 weeks ago and won the $1000 jackpot
MommyToAshley replied: YIPEEE
Did you forget about your sis?
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I'd love to go to bingo regulary. I relaly like playing it.... but...all my friends think it's a *geezer thing to do*. Their grandparents go...they'd NEVER be caught there. My DH agrees with them. I'm not the type of person to go somewhere alone if I can avoid it, so I don't go by myself - I POUNCE on the opportunity to go with my grandparents though, if theyM're going.... rofl... I love bingo!!!!
Other than that, I buy lottery tickets if the jackpot goes over 6 million.
MomToMany replied: I only play when the jackpot gets big. DH buys scratch-offs whenever he can (and I'm not with) but he's never won more than $5 at a time !
Kaitlin'smom replied: sometimes, like everyone elce when the jackpot gets big. I do buy strach offs now and then. Humm bingo have not played in a long time, would like to go sometime
supermom replied: Yep, I only play when it gets big too - like the odds don't get any better then - you've got a better chance of being struck by lightning, and that's never happened either...... But it can't hurt to dream for a couple of bucks!
momofajcl replied: My dh buys lottery tickets twice a week...we are hooked! Come on big money!!!!!
ashade75 replied: Speaking of lottery- they just passed an envelope around here at work! I guess the Ohio Lottery is worth $31 Million.
Im going to play with my fellow employees. I need some good luck vibes. Pleez
Yes I am begging.......
ashade75 replied: Actually,
By the time I finished paying for Brit's trip to DC, spring soccer fees and bought her new soccer cleats ($95.00 for cleats, have you ever heard of sticker shock), paid for Krys's 3 dance costumes for her recital (coming up 6/21 she made the finale ((big deal!!! ))), and paid for school pictures, I didnt have any money left
Oh well, at least the kids got to enjoy it.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: kids are expensive....
Zach isn't quite 8 months old yet, and I've already spent at least 8000$ (give or take a few hundred) on him...
And this isn't counting formula or diapers. I mean the professional pictures we had taken to put on the birth announcements. We sent them out to 83 people (family and friends). That's a LOT of pictures!! It cost us 650$, and then we had to pay for the cards, enveloppes, and postage. Ouch.
Next, we had his 2 1/2 month pics taken, that cost us jsut over 700$, and all we got with that were 4 montages (one for us, one for my mom, one for my dad, one for DH's parents), 12 wallet size, and 3 8 1/2 x 11s. Dang expensive!!!
Then we got smart, and took the wallet sized poses, went to Blacks's Photography, and got them blown up. We then only had to pay a few bucks per poicture, we got 249 pictures made - we sent 3 different small pics to everyone who got a birth announcement. It cost us 500$, not including postage.
Then there's his crib, his dressers, the paint and accessories in his room, his TOYS!!! He has more than I had as a kid!!!!!!
Then there's his clothes. Since he's been born, he's worn a different thing everyday for the first 2 months of his life. Then, he had enough clothes to wear something new every few days. Now, we still buy him a few new outfits every couple weeks.... but we CHOOSE to do that, because on top of what we buy, we havwe hand-me downs from our 2 year old nephew, as well as my step-sister's son who is 3 months older than Zach.
Maybe I SHOULD play the lottery more often!! Come on big money!!!
ashade75 replied: I heard that!!!
MommyToAshley replied: ITA... I once heard someone say that kids aren't expensive until they become a teenager. HELLO???? Am I totaly missing something here? Let's see, you have to buy: Bassinette, Crib, Dressers, Changing Table, Highchair, Playpen, Walker, Exasaucer, Stroller, car seats, clothing (every couple months), bedding, blankets, toys, mobile, diapers, bottles, baby food, ...etc
But, as the mastercard commercial goes....
The smile on your baby's face, priceless! For everything else, there's mastercard. hehe
supermom replied: Try car insurance for a 16 YO MALE !!! ROFLMBO!!!! Then everything you bought for the first two years of your baby's life money wise will be spent in about 3 months!
