mom21kid2dogs wrote: I LOVE seeing movies at the Drive In and we are lucky enough to have one within 30 minutes of us! We are going tonight~packing up the kid, the dogs and the popcorn . . .let the fun begin!! tongue.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: you are so lucky
we have not had a drive-in for over 20 years around here and I used to enjoy them

3_call_me_mama replied: We have one in the town next to ours. It's AWSOME ! Love to go there.

coasterqueen replied: We have one too and are thinking about going tomorrow night since the weather is supposed to warm up! It's nice because Kylie should be asleep by the time we get tehre and hopefully Megan will too. tongue.gif

Jamielou replied: We have one about 20minutes away. I love to go there but i always fall asleep before the second movie... tongue.gif

caligirl replied: WE ALSO HAVE A DRIVE-IN HERE IN wASHINGTON sTATE. I LOVE GOING THERE. biggrin.gif

bwalkerletters replied: I live in TN, but only about 10 minutes from the KY state line. There is one just across the state line in KY. They show 2 movies and it's 8 dollars a car! Not a head, but per car. It's definitely perfect for taking young kids. That way you don't have to worry about bothering other people watching the movie. smile.gif

3_call_me_mama replied:
Jason- are you close to fort campbell? (I think i have my geography right..) I have a sister that lives in TN but her husband is stationed in KY at (I believe) Fort Campbell, so it must be near where you are.. I think. (not real sure cause she just moved there from TX)

bwalkerletters replied: Yes, I am just east of Ft. Campbell, directly above Nashville. I will actually be in Ft Campbell tomorrow. My stepsister is having a birthday party for her oldest son. Her husband just went to Iraq 2 weekends ago. So, yeah, I am very close. smile.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: my BIL leave sin a few months i think... can't remember exactally cause the date is always changing, he's been there once but had to come back cause he got bit by a TSE TSE Fly (i think that's what they are called) anyway.... not to change the thread topic.. just wanted to know.. thanks!

~KARA~ replied: We have one that is about an hour away. Last movie I saw at the drive in was "Jaws the revenge"

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Hmmmm! I think there is one around here somewhere...South of Dallas maybe? Anyway, South Dallas is NOT a good area. We won't be going anytime soon that's for sure! happy.gif

There used to be one really close to where I grew up, but they closed it when I was a kid. rolleyes.gif

coasterqueen replied:
I always fall asleep before second movie too or a bit into it. tongue.gif Dh and I try to find a weekend where there are two good movies and it's usually the case where the first one is the one I really want to see and the second one is the one he wants to see so it works out. So he would entertain Kylie during 1st and I would sleep with Kylie in back of van through second one. biggrin.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm so jealous!! That sounds like SO much fun!!

A&A'smommy replied: we have an old one about 45 minutes from us but i don't know if they use it still or not wink.gif I have ALWAYS wanted to go to one they are SOO neat!

ions_momma replied: There is one about 2 hours away from my hometown that we go to quite a bit when we are home in the summer. There is also one a few hours away from the town we live in. We havent been to it yet but hopefully we will get a chance to go sometime!

supermom replied: We haven't had one in our town for years and years and years. Not any close either. But I remember when I was a teenager many many years ago going to watch the "free show" (where you park where you can see the picture but not the sound) because we were all so broke. I also remember sneaking people in in the trunk.......(this dates me!)

pinka_star replied:
lol I'm the same way! I always tell myself "You can do it, you're a big girl. Do something you've never done before and stay up through the SECOND movie." Yet.... I always fall asleep. *sigh* One day, I swear!!!

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I don't think there are any on this island. I think the last movie I saw at a drive-in was E.T. I would love to go to one now. They are so much fun.

Boys r us replied: It's so funny that you asked that!! We were just talking last night about trying to go this weekend, provided it doesn't rain tonight!!
We have 2 within 45 minutes of us..but you have to get to either of them at least an hour early or you won't get in!

moped replied: No we don't and I only got to go one in my life - and I was 4....so I don't really remember!

mom21kid2dogs replied:
I had a '68 VW Karman Ghia (candy apple red to boot!) when I was a teenager. It had a wonderful feature of a fold down seat back leading to the rear end. We could get 3 of my friends in it and 2 of us would pay and split the difference! I loved those days, too!

lisar replied: we do and it cost more than going to the movies. its horrible. the one we have is not a good place.

Lisa

SOUTHERN MOMMY replied: there is one about 45 min. away and we love it wavey.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
I was just going to post the same thing. LOL! But, we ended up not going to the drive-in... we bought a new TV instead. The drive-in would have been cheaper. LOL!

uwishucudfly replied: We have one that is about 45 minutes to an hour away. We have only gone once because my kids like to see the movies that are in the movie theaters. However, they do enjoy going to the drive thru because they love the night time drive, being in their pajamas, seeing a movie in the car, being with the dogs, and sleeping in the car. Ohhh, maybe we will go next weekend!

kel replied: ive never been to a drive in..i dont think we have many here and the ones we do have are in not so kosher areas..

My2Beauties replied: We have 2 within 20 minutes from my house! I haven't been since I was a kid though - man that sounds like fun!

bwalkerletters replied: Drive-In's remind me of being a kid, and actually, I think it's a cool little tradition for families to have.

Kaitlin'smom replied:
I could not remember if we still had any around here or not laugh.gif

and yes that would have been cheeper rolling_smile.gif

mammag replied: Cheryl, how far away would that be from me in Columbus? Was it nice......family friendly? I would love to take the kids to a drive in. I haven't been since I was a little girl watching Exorcist!!

mom21kid2dogs replied:
The one we go to is in Lancaster~about 30 minutes south of Columbus from the Brice Road area, I would estimate. Yes~this one is VERY family friendly, clean, fairly inexpensive ~ $5 per adults, 4-11 are $2 and 3 and under are free and last weekend they were showing 3 movies for that price. It's called Skyview Drive In and they have a website at www.skyviewdrivein.com

I bet your kids would love it!! thumb.gif

mammag replied: Oh wonderful! That's like 15-20mins from me!! We are right off of 33 in Canal Winchester! Oh I'm so excited. I'll check out the website! Thanks!!
