Do you think it would be too much for the kids - to try to squeeze in Disney?
luvmykids wrote: DH is wanting to do a mini Disney trip when we go for spring break but I personally think it's just too much. It will take a day to get there, then it would be two or three hours to drive to Orlando, spend a day or two at Disney, then two or three hours back. We'd have a few days between that and coming home but I'm just worried it will be way too much along with all the other stuff he wants to do, like the beach, another amusement park, etc....
Opinions?
MommyToAshley replied: I wouldn't go during Spring Break. That is their busiest time of the year and you will spend most of your time waiting in line... especially if you only go for a day or two. I'd wait until an off-peak time and plan a separate trip. I know a lot of people go during Spring Break and have fun, but I hate large crowds myself so we always go off-peak times.
luvmykids replied: DUH, great point, I didn't even think of that aspect
A&A'smommy replied: Yeah not that I have ever been there but you would DEFINITELY be standing in line for one ride for HOURS!!!
MommyToAshley replied: You can check the Disney site ... they list their peak times and Spring Break and Christmas Break are their two busiest times of the year. If you plan a separate trip, I'd highly recommend going the first week of October. That's when we went the first time and the lines were non-existent. We were even able to stay on the rides and ride again. My neighbor went during Spring Break and the shortest line she was in was 1-1/2 hours. And... she could never get a fast pass as they were always out by the time she got to them.
Another perk about off-peak times, the hotels are cheaper and you can get some great deals. Just check the maintenance schedule and make sure a ride you want isn't down for maintenance the time you are going to be there.
jcc64 replied: Good advice, Dee Dee. We went during Thanksgiving break, and that was awful- 3 hr lines WITH fast pass. Never again.
holley79 replied: No not enough time. Two or three days at Disney is just a teaser.
mckayleesmom replied: Nah....plan a trip to the beach instead....layout in the sun while the kids play in the sand and your dh can fish....thats what we do...
Calimama replied: I wouldn't go, man those lines will be HORRIBLE!
sparkys2boys replied: I think I would pass until you have more time and it's not such a busy time for them there. The kids would not have fun in lines that big ughhhhhhhh nor would mom
luvmykids replied: DH just informed me that we're flying into Orlando instead of Atlanta, I guess he just figured Disney would be good
Oh well, the kids don't have to know that
We leave on Easter and come home April 1, I'm a little nervous about being gone that long
Calimama replied:
How can you go that long with out us here at PC? Are you taking a laptop?
bawoodsmall replied: Sounds like my dh. Ask what I think then do what he wants. Maybe you will get lucky and it wont be to bad. I hope you have a good time!!! I hope the kids are good for you.
gr33n3y3z replied: We went tords the end of Aug and it was perfect Just after their huge July 4th and right before Halloween time
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I would only try and make it work if you had a lot of time. I hate crowds, plus I hate rushing through it. So I would hold off if it were me. You guys will have so much else to do, I'm sure the kids won't miss it.
