Do you think this wrong?

Calimama wrote: If a gas station where you lived MISTAKENLY posted gas for .42 cents would you go fill up? Or would you not because you know that's obviously a very huge mistake?

I guess I should have made this a poll.. but oh well. tongue.gif

ETA: The number entered into the pumps was .42 cents.. the sign was posted as $4.07!

luvmykids replied: I've heard of this happening a few times, and people took full advantage of it. Personally, unless it was a legitimate promotion type thing, I'd feel bad. I know everyone is facing tough times and I couldn't feel good about it knowing it was really hurting the folks who own the gas station.

mckayleesmom replied: How does that happen? I worked in a gas station and the outside marque sign is a pain to change...let alone the computer change to change the gas at the pump.

Calimama replied:
Someone accidentally enters the wrong price in the computer. Yet changed the marquee properly. In this case the gas station was closed, only premium was entered in wrong, and the MP's did an emergency stop to the pump!

A&A'smommy replied: uh oh.. no I think I would feel bad!

Crystalina replied: No way!
If I were to take advantage of that I would surely go down the road and get a few flat tires, hit a deer and maybe get side-swiped by a semi.

No Thank you! nosmiley.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: I'd probably fill up, but I would definitely tell them about it.

Nina J replied: I wouldn't take advantage.

I know there are a lot of big fuel companies who own heaps of stores, but there are also some around here owned by regular, local people. If I took advantage of that, I'd feel bad because someone is going to have to pay for the lost money and I wouldn't like to think that the owners of the store would be out of pocket because I took advantage of an obvious mistake.

Plus, I am a big believer in 'you reap what you sow'. It is an obvious mistake, anyone would realise, and IMO by taking advantage you are, in a way, stealing. Fuel prices may be stupidly high but you should always do the right thing and be honest.

CantWait replied: I'm one that believes in KARMA, and sometimes karma comes back to bite. No way I could take advantage of it... sad.gif

luvmykids replied:
Oh, you mean the government would have to eat the loss? I might think about it in that case rolling_smile.gif

Calimama replied:
Nope, I think they are outside contractors.. not sure though. rolling_smile.gif

MoonMama replied: I think I would feel bad too.

luvmykids replied:
Oh, then I stand by my original answer tongue.gif

lisar replied: I would fill er up.
