Do you use correct terminology?

We do. My friend told her daughter not to scratch her punani in public, so I was just wondering how many people use the actual name or other names.
my2monkeyboys replied: We call a penis/testicles a willie/ballies, and a vagina a tootie. (Though Will doesn't have one of those and has never asked much about it.) I just never have like the medical terms for them... they sound alien to me! LOL
PrairieMom replied: The Boy has a peppie and The Girl as a cooter. It is strange since I am a medical person and use correct terms for everything else. I just can't get the correct terms to come out of my mouth.
boyohboyohboy replied: we have always used correct names for the parts. I think it just makes it easier in the long run, when you have to explain things.
I just dont like the slang
booey2 replied: We have from day 1 used the correct names, now occasionally we will joke and use different names for them. Both boys do know the correct names and we feel they should know them, the sitter used to call her sons penis a coco and one day the boys heard her and were so confused.
Terri
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Ethan has a penis. For Maddie we use 'pee-pee'. I'll never use the word vagina in conversation with her. I hate that word.
BAC'sMom replied: No not at all we use the word "privates"
3_call_me_mama replied: we use teh correct words. My mom doesn't and it drives me nuts! SHe told Cameron one day " careful when you zip your Pj's you don't want to catch your pipper in it! " He looked at her like she had 3 heads and i was liek "UM it's a penis mom, and that's what we call it. e has no clue what you are talking about" and she was al liek well it just sounds so dirty when you call it that! But kathleen hasn't really asked what she has so we never really refer to it. But Cameron calls it her "not a penis" But when we do refer to it it is a vagina. No sense it teaching slang only ot later have to correct it with teh corret words, at least for us.
3xsthefun replied: No, we say "pee, pee" for the girls.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Well Andrew's still little, but I say pee pee. I don't know, but I suppose somewhere along the way we'll start using the correct word when he's older and baby talk just is too silly. For girls, I don't think I could ever use the word vagina until it's time to have the sex talk. And really, if you're talking about where the potty comes from and wanted to use the correct word, wouldn't you say urethra? It seems weird to me to use the word vagina unless you're explaining sex or periods to your daughter. JMO.
mckayleesmom replied: Both
Mckaylee knows that she has a vagina and Russell has a penis. But for everyday terms....she has a giney (ji-knee) and Russell has a tallywacker.
Our Lil' Family replied: Well Thomas is still young but when I'm bathing him I try to say what body part I am washing, to teach him words and sometimes I say penis and others I say pee-pee. I guess with time penis would become easier to say but to me a penis is what a man has...not my baby!
Jolyn replied: For the most part we say penis and testicles. When the boys are being silly they call it a wiener. What can ya do!!haha!!!! We do say privates too.
Boo&BugsMom replied: No we don't. Some kids can handle using them, others can't, and I think it's just a personal preference. My son can not handle learning the correct terms, in my own opinion. He was too facinated by the word boobie when he learned that one SOMEWHERE, I'd hate to see how facinated he'd be with the term vagina or penis! They are all too "fun" sounding to a 4 year old. I have no fear that he'll learn the correct terms when he's older so why push it now.
C&K*s Mommie replied: We do for everything but the main privates, we call it 'hoo-hoo's' and Kellie will repeat "no one touchit hoo-hoo?" for noone but me or daddy to change her diaper.
For everything else, we use the correct terminology. We have not really gotten into male privates yet, I think we mentioned it a few times but nothing all the time.
