Do you wear your

Boys r us wrote: seatbelt when you're in the car?

I'm really good about it b/c Tanner NEVER lets me forget. I went through a phase where I didn't..and then one day I thought..how stupid...how stupid that I've been given something to protect myself and I don't use it! Plus, kids learn by example..so even though I guess I may not always set the best examples..lol..I try hard with this one!

Josie83 replied: Of course, always! Although I do unfasten it to reverse, so I can reverse easier rolleyes.gif Cassie FREAKS OUT if anyone is in our car without a seatbelt! The other week we saw Maria on the way home so pulled over to take her home with us, she hopped in the back with Cassie and didn't have her seatbelt on it. Cassie screamed "MUMMY LOOK" and made me stop till Maria fastened herself in rolleyes.gif I would never dream of driving without one! xx

TANNER'S MOM replied: I do always buckle up..UNLESS I am in DH's truck passenger side..Because it doesn't work right... It locks weird and chokes me to death....And then I am freaked out.

I can sit in the middle and have a belt..and I sometimes do.

kit_kats_mom replied: I feel like I'm going to fall out of my seat if I'm not wearing it. It just feels wrong KWIM?

Katherine buckles the top clasp in her carseat. I have started to pull out without realizing that she's not gotten it clasped yet. She throws a fit and starts screaming "stop mommy stop!! I'm not fastened in yet!!". It's pretty funny.

mommy2owen replied: i always do! alyssa yells at me if i dont!

Allyson&Patrick'sMom replied: ALWAYS.....

DH forgets a lot....even when driving in his JEEP...

Daisyx3 replied: I always wear my seatbelt as a driver or passenger. Everyone in my family does too.

O by the way Tanner has a good b-day lol. My b-day is 5-30-78 hehe.

Kaitlin'smom replied: yep I always wear mine not matter where I am sitting in the car, DH on the other hand well I make him when he is with us

mom21kid2dogs replied: Yep~we're all bucklers and everyone who rides in our car is required by us to wear one.

PascosGirl replied: Yes and I make every adult riding with me wear one as well. It saved my life once...(long story).

aspenblue1 replied: I always wear my seatbelt.

coasterqueen replied: Always and if I forget Kylie is quick to let me know wink.gif.

5littleladies replied: I always buckle my seatbelt. One of the few times I didn't (I was 16) I got a ticket. I was so embarassed. That's not why I wear it though-I just don't feel normal without it. wink.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: thumb.gif Yes I always do and I make sure that the kids wear theres as well. The fine for not wearing a seatbelt is $500.00 and 2 demerit points in Ontario. And you can loose your license for up to 30 days.

mckayleesmom replied: Always...we all do. thumb.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I always do now.. when I was a teenager I didn't. rolleyes.gif But now I just feel unsafe like I'm going to fall out of the car if I'm not wearing it. The only exception is if I'm in the backseat (which doesn't happen very often in my own car). But if I'm in the middle seat of Jen's mini van I will wear it - especially if her hubby is driving! tongue.gif (no offense to Jason, Jennifer! emlaugh.gif )

MIMommy99 replied: I always wear mine, because it became a habbit. I always make sure everyone in the car is buckled up.

My2Beauties replied: YES! I always wear my seat belt in the car! I feel naked without it! I alwyas make sure that Brian has his on too, Hanna knows the routine now too! She is getting good at maneuvering her hands and stuff so I can get that darn 5-point seat belt system in that dang car seat on her...those things are hard to get the hang of!

mammag replied: I almost always do. I will forget sometimes because I've got six kids to get in the car during the day and by the time I'm done I feel like I already did me! I'll forget mostly if I'm wearing a big coat but when I'm wearing something small it doesn't feel right without it.

JessC replied: Yes I have always have and always will!

I got in a car wreck about 2 years ago and the seatbelt saved me and Chris's life. If i wasnt wearing it I think i would have gone through the window.

GavinsMommy replied: I always wear mine after a wreck I got into. Someone was taking me home from a party and his tires were basically bald...it was raining pretty bad. We were getting on the interstate. There was a semi in the middle lane and we were in the right lane. He was speeding trying to get past the semi so he could get in front of it or in the left lane....and right when the tail end of the car got past the semi...we did a 360 and slammed into the median. I was screaming "OH GOD, OH GOD, OH GOD" when we were spinning, lol...and holding the crap handle. I could literally see the trucker's face and it was like this ~> ohmy.gif LOL!!! It was so scary. But we weren't hurt and the car wasn't that messed up either for what happened...we hit the median at least going 70....we're lucky....

taylor&zachsmom replied: I didn't use to until......

My dh was in a severe car accident that killed the driver of the other car. My dh was on his way home from work and thank god he was driving our truck. The guy driving the other car was comming from a parking lot and turned right (to head north) after doing so he decided to make a U-turn in front of my dh who was going 55 mph. My dh T-boned his car and the driver died instantly. My dh on the other hand crushed his nose (and had to have reconstructive surgery to fix it) and broke every single rib that he has. And to top it off he was leaking spinal fluid through his nose. He was in the hosp. for over a week. Home for 3 months before he could go back to work. And told not to sneeze, cough, fart or even poop too hard or that he would stroke out b/c of the spinal fluid and the pressure on his brain stem. I had to take care of his every need. Down to wipping his butt. He is ok now. But this is 4 years later. If he hadn't been wearing his seatbelt he would have been ejected from his truck and ran over by his own vehical.

I hope you wear your seat belt now. Christine

DVFlyer replied: Always. My wife doesn't and it really bothers me. I make little comments now and then but it isn't habit for her like me.

She will usually put it on when I ask, but now with her being so PG, she doesn't wear it at all. I can't understand it, but I know I can't force her to do something she doesn't want to do.

texasp3 replied: Always, always, always. Anyone in my car when I'm driving wears a seat belt... unless they want us to spend the whole day/night sitting in the car waiting for it to move. happy.gif Seriously - it's a rule in my vehicle - everyone buckles up. And I wear a helmet, gloves, jacket and boots when I'm on a motorcycle too, or I just skip the ride.

My2Beauties replied:
Your story gave me chills! I'm sorry to hear the other person lost their life but glad to hear your DH survived...what a tragedy. I hate hearing stories like that, it saddens me. We have electronic signs posted every so many miles on Kentucky Highways and the other day it read the # of death caused by traffic accidents in Ky in 2004 and YTD for 2005...there are already over 300 deaths I believe it was on our roadways alone in Kentucky since January 1!! sad.gif

taylor&zachsmom replied: Leann.......

I am sorry.. I didn't mean to upset you. I just wanted to get the point across that a seatbelt CAN and DOES save your life.

It was a very hard time in our lives. And it took a long time for my dh to realize that it wasn't his fault. That he may have been the driver that hit the other car. But it was the other drivers fault for doing the u-turn..

So, I just want you all to know that seatbelts save lives. I am sorry if my reply hurt anyone or brought up any hard memories. It wasn't ment for that. Just as a reminder that people need to be carefull. I will now step down from my soap box. Thanks for listening to what I had to say.

A&A'smommy replied: Yes I do most of the time anyone there have been a few times when I forgot but I most of the time I do.

Celestrina replied:
It's the same in my car, which is why I don't drive my SIL anywhere!

gr33n3y3z replied: yes I do
all the time
Everyone knows you drive with me your gonna buckle up
Or walk smile.gif

momma2emily replied: i always do to, but i was really bad about untill it became a strictly enforced law, ans i never forget now lol

jolene555 replied: I nearly always do. my car has seat belt detection, if if i'm not wearing I hear "DING DING DING DING DING DING DING DING" evey 30 seconds, or I can buckle and then unbuckle (to stop the dinging) but that's just silly.

It's a little odd, but you know how they say that you can tell that some people are depressed when they don't care to take a shower? You can tell I'm depressed when I stop wearing my seatbelt.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I always do, if it's not on I feel weird. I can't even sit in a parked car w/o the belt smile.gif I think I saw too many accident pics where I used to work to ever question the need for a seatbelt
And Katy will do the same thing as Katherine (I think) she will buckle the top and if I forget about the bottom she will yeall at me and tell me smile.gif

iluvmysweetiepies replied: I always wear my seatbelt!!! The kids always do to thumb.gif I agree, it feels weird to not buckle-up happy.gif
