Do your children have signs - when they are sick???
mckayleesmom wrote: With Mckaylee and Russell I can tell when they are getting sick..long before they actually show the full force symptons. They are pretty easy to read.
McKaylee
1. If she falls asleep anywhere other then her room. She is not the type of kid to fall asleep outside of her bed. When I was in the hospital having Russell I called home to check on Mckaylee and my sister said she was asleep on the couch...I imediately said "what is wrong with her, take her tempature" and sure enough...she was sick. We ended up in the ER 2 days later with a tempature of 105.
2. If she asks to take a nap
3. If she actually takes a nap when I put her down at noon...Usually she just plays in her room, but if she actually falls asleep I can probably count on pukeing.
Russell
1. Russell is a huge mamas boy, but when he becomes really clingy and crys when I put him down for any reason...hes sick.
coasterqueen replied: I notice really dark circles under both girls eyes when they are about to get sick or fighting something off.
Also with Kylie she'll sleep way more than usual.
BAC'sMom replied: My crew also gets the dark circles under the eyes. They also get quiet, clingy and more emotional.
fashionmumofboys replied: My boys get cranky and not very energetic as usual.
MyLuvBugs replied: Lorelei just gets unbelievably grouchy for really no apparent reason. She'll just be sitting there, drop a toy, and start screaming, crying and throw herself on the floor.
Sometimes she'll get really chapped cheeks. They turn red and dry for some reason. She never has a fever, but she'll be playing in the living room and next thing ya know .....big red cheeks.
A&A'smommy replied: 1. When she is clingy and super whiny
2. when she starts pulling on her neck or wont even look at food no matter how hard her tummy is growling
3. and when she snores loudly!
ammommy replied: I know the kids are getting sick when they are cranky, whiny, and don't want to go outside to play.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Mackenzie gets really clingy and her eyes glass over.
kayla's mama replied: Kayla gets the dark circles under the eyes and also a sweet smelling breath that hard to describe.
Crystalina replied: I can say, thank God and knock on wood, my kids have never been sick. Not a cold or even an earache. I'm very, very lucky. Izabella starts kindergarten in the fall and I have a feeling that's when the sickness' will start.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: If Katy starts taking voluntary naps I knkow she isn't feeling well but usually there are no signs. Yesterday she woke up with a 103 fever and fighting me that she was fine, not hot, and wanted to go play. Matt also doesn't have any pre symptoms but after he gets real sick he will get pretty clingy.
NEWMOM05 replied: As anew mommy I have already noticed when Kathryn is getting sick. She won't eat as good as usual and she just wants to be held by me. She also doesn't sleep as good as usual either. Thank goodness for this since we warded off an ear infection as soon as it become one. Now the poor lil' girl had a cold again or allergies. Can they get allergies this early at 2 months?

MamaJAM replied: My girls all become cuddly....since they have never really been 'cuddlers' - it's easy to tell that something is up. DS#1 gets extra-sleepy. And DS#2 gets whiney DAYS before he shows any real signs of being ill.
2whippets replied: Oh boy are you in for it!!
You know, before my daughter started school, the only problem we ever had was with teething. But now, I'm convinced those little germ carrying, gotta touch everything pixies need to be quarantined for the first two weeks of school. She usually has one loooong cold which starts in September and ends around Christmas. This year we stocked up on vitamins, OJ and cough syrup while we did back to school shopping.
luvbug00 replied: Mya starts to smell like rubber. and that's how I know she is going to get sick.
Bee_Kay replied: My children are 13 - 17 years old.... so a sure-fire sign of them getting sick is either they get really grouchy or really whiny (that goes for my Dh too )
