Doctors

ashtonsmama wrote: Just wondering, because we switched OBs this time, we liked our last doc, except for one small thing, and it was enough to make us want to find someone more compatible with our birth plan.
So just curious...

ashtonsmama replied: P.S. I guess HATE is a strong word, sorry. I meant, if you didn't really like your first doc...KWIM?

Cece00 replied: I love my OB. He is great.

He delivered ME 24 yrs ago, he's a family friend, and he has delivered my 3 children. He will also be delivering my 4th in about 7.5 weeks. I have csections & really, he is just about the ONLY person I'd trust to be cutting on me.

mummy2girls replied: yes same ob... he was there when i had jordan and then was there for me when he died. So he knew what to look for when jenna was born.

ashtonsmama replied:
That's a great connection! How neat-you got lucky for sure!

ashtonsmama replied:
I'm glad he was alert--I'm sure that made you feel more secure when Jenna was born...

AlexsPajamaMama replied: I only have one so far, but I will stick with the same OB for our next one, whenever that might be

Our primary care dr is the same dr my brother and I always had growing up, my dad also goes to him.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I would have kept my old OB but we moved out of state sad.gif
I loved her and the new one is slightly less than competent

MyLuvBugs replied: We moved to a different state, so I didn't get the same doctor. BUt I hated my first experience anyway....so it all worked out. smile.gif

ZandersMama replied: I love mine, i had so many problems and there was nights rather then get the on call to check me she would get out of bed and come to the hos. and reasure me.

redchief replied: Null voted... Lisa's original OB retired.

Jackie012007 replied: I like the fact that my OB has very modern equipment and it's a nice place, but it is a group of 3 doctors and I don't like the fact that I never know who I will be seeing on any given day... that kinda sucks. I am actually getting a new OB next week because my insurance (medicaid) won't cover my current OBGYN because it is in a different county... but I scoped out the new place and one of my very good friends had a baby and went to the new OB and is currently pregnant again (ALL my friends are pregnant!!) and goes and she loves the OB... and IT'S A WOMAN!!!!!! YAY!!!! The doctors at the other group were 2 men and a woman and I always got the men!!!

My3LilMonkeys replied: I didn't vote b/c you didn't have my option - I would have liked to, but couldn't. We switched insurances in between babies and my original OB's office didn't take the new insurance - but we ended up loving the new OB anyway, and the new hospital was way better!

luvmykids replied: I didn't get to use the same doc because we had moved out of town but if I could have I sure would have. I saw him again for my annual and he remembered the twins delivery and who was there and all that stuff... I know some of it was in the charts but he even remembered my dad praying in the hall and said we were still, all this time later, the easiest twin delivery he's ever had biggrin.gif

Heather77 replied: Yes, I love him! I've used him for 10 years now.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I hope my doctor stays in my area forever because I LOVE her! She is the best doctor I've ever been to. My only disappointment is she's only an OB/GYN not a family doctor so I have to find a different person to go to for everything else. tongue.gif

ediep replied: I voted yes, I love my doc...but I wouldn't actually say I LOVE them. There is a group of 5 and they are all very good doctors. Some a better bedside manner than others. I have been going to the same docs since I was 17. My original doc retired and I got a new one in the same group after that.

zdk753 replied: I used the same Dr. for every pregnancy, but he only delivered Kailynn. W/ Zach he was on vacation & no one could get ahold of him & w/ Dylan he had done a crash c-section & told them not to call him. If I ever decide to have another one though I am changing Dr's. I didn't like his attitude towards me when I worked as a housekeeper at the hospital. He treated me like the other Dr.'s. Like I was below him.

lisar replied: My choice isnt an option to vote on. I would have used the same Dr but the one I had with Lexi moved after I had her. She went to another state and opened up a new practice for just her. She was great. I hated to see her go. But my new dr is also great I have no complaints about him.

Brias3 replied: I chose the "only because we had to" option, as that best fits our situation. I delivered my first two in Hong Kong and wasn't particulary thrilled with my OB/GYN there but he was certainly the most attractive of our options in that area at the time so I went ahead and stuck with him for Aliyah too. Mason was born in Brussels and I was not at ALL pleased with my OB/GYN there....in fact, I was pretty displeased with the whole medical field as a whole there- their technology seems nowhere close to ours. It seems weird to think that I've never given birth to a child in the U.S.- looking back and then thinking about how happy I am with my gynecologist I see now, its frustrating to think how things could have been better but all three are here and healthy, so can't complain too much!

my2monkeyboys replied: Only have one son, right now, but if we ever have another I plan on using the same one. I love him to pieces!

boyohboyohboy replied: With our first child, I loved my OB, and the midwife..but our insurance changed and we had to find someone new for our second. We ended up in a large practice and hated almost all the 8 drs!
now we are planning to go back to the first set of dr's and they are now accepting the insurance we have.....I have already been to see them , and now we are justing waiting to start trying in a few more months.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I couldn't vote because my answer wasn't up there. No, I didn't use the same OB, but would have liked too. We moved, so we HAD to use a different OB. I loved my first more than the second, but both were fairly good. Probably because of my birth experience, I'm not loving the second, but in truth, he was really good. Go with your first impression if you're trying to make a decision.

Bee_Kay replied: No, but loved each of our doctors.

Our two doctors for Ashley and Tyler were brothers LOL!

CantWait replied: I'll say other because we didn't live in the same Province, however even so I wouldn't have. I didn't even go back to my first OB for my 6 week.

Our Lil' Family replied: I only have one so far but if we're still living here when #2 is on the way I'll use the same. I LOVE my Dr.!

Our Lil' Family replied:
Hey Crystal...who's your Dr?

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Where's the No because we moved around option? wink.gif

Jade was born at Tripler Army Medical in Hawaii. If you didn't call in advance you wouldn't get the same person everytime. It was a team effort sort of thing and the person you saw everytime does not deliver the baby.

For Jordan I started my care at Tripler and did see the same person because they had changed the system by then. However, we moved to Maryland when I was 32 weeks and she was born at Bethesda (Yes the President's Hospital blink.gif ).

Cece00 replied:
Dr. Truman Hawes @ Women's & Children's. He's under the "Acadiana Women's Health Group" practice...I only see him, though, even though about 8 Dr's & I think 1 CNM work in the same building. His partner for my csections is always Dr. Fuselier, so when my OB isnt available & I'm having an emergency, I will go see him, but really, I LOVE my OB.

Who is yours?

ashtonsmama replied:
Thanks ladies, and Crystal, just had to say I love the new pics of the kids and Jack!
