Doctor's Appointment Yesterday 3/9

jen wrote: Baby is healthy! He estimates her at term to be 7 to 7 1/2 lbs! He said her heartbeat was real strong. I gained 3 lbs since my last visit 2 weeks ago so I am still averaging 1.5 lbs a week! I feel so huge, TELL ME ALL THIS WEIGHT IS GOING TO COME OFF AND I WILL HAVE MY BODY BACK!!! I just feel FAT and HUGE! All my prepregnancy clothes look like little girl clothes! haha! My friend didn't lose all her weight and it has been a year but she eats whatever she wants and doesn't diet much.

I guess I am just down because I see all the spring dresses and little summer outfits and I can't wear them and it is getting HOT here!!!!!

But above all I am thankful for Maddy and her health!!! I just needed to be selfish about me! SORRY! ohmy.gif

coasterqueen replied: Ahh, don't feel bad. Some of mine came off right away and then BF really helped and I hear it helps others A LOT MORE, lol. So if you are planning to BF, you just might get lucky wink.gif

BTW, they are already measuring baby at 7 to 7.5 pounds or projecting her to be that weight? I say that because they projected Kylie to be around 7 pounds (or a bit less) and she ended up being 8 lbs 2 ounces. I say always tack on an extra pound just in case (to the projected weight), lol.

Glad you had a great appt. Don't worry about the weight. It will all come off eventually grouphug.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: If you plan to breastfeed, the weight seems to melt off. I lost all of my pregnancy weight by 6 months. Now I'm just working on the blubber I had before I was pregnant. LOL

I did not diet or anything, in fact I ate a TON but breastfeeding makes you hungry and you need those cals for the baby. don't start a diet after maddie is born unless you don't plan to BF. In many women, the weight loss will happen naturally over a period of time.

jen replied:
they project her to be 7 to 7.5 lbs!!! I told DH she will probably be 8 to 9 lbs! hah a! I want to be prepared for anything!

I am going to breastfeed, I don't care what it takes. I bought the Isis pump In Style like everyone (most) suggested and it came with a manual pump..........SO I AM READY!!! I want the best for her! and hey if it helps weight loss that is a PLUS!!!

I guess my BMI was way under anyway before I got pregnant I am 5'9 and weighed 126 and now I am pushing on up to 160. So getting down to 140 after birth would make me happy. I think it would be a better healthy weight to stay at while I breastfeed at least KWIM?

jen replied:
Thanks, yes I plan on Breastfeeding exclusively, I am really dedicated and not open to bottle feeding at all except with breast milk later on.

I just feel huge and with the season changing, and the weather getting warm and even hot this past weekend I feel like a sweating cow! LOL! laugh.gif

Thanks for the encouragement, it makes me feel better to know that you lost yours without even trying! I am not a dieter anyway just a health freak!

coasterqueen replied: Just a "plug" for BF tongue.gif BF *can* keep AF away too, lol. I didn't get AF back until Kylie was about 9 months old and thats when she really started eating some solid foods. Awww, what I wouldn't give to have those months back with no AF rolling_smile.gif

jen replied:
I consider that a BIG BIG plus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! laugh.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: yap i had lost most of my PG weight in a few months, I still have about 3-5lbs of that and then mine to looses, and I noticed it my weight loss slowed down after she started eating more solids, and it kept AF gone for about 9-10 months or so. Glad you had a good appointment. I wish you the best at BF I did and loved it. It really is the best and so much cheeper. I cant waite to met your baby!

kimberley replied: thumb.gif glad baby is healthy! don`t let those dr`s freak you out. they have always been way off with birth weight for me. for Jacob, they said he would be about average 7lbs and he was 8 and a half! ohmy.gif BUT with James they told me right until he was born that he was big (about 8-9lbs) and he was born at 7lbs even. i don`t think they guesstimated with Jade but she was 7lbs 3oz. as for the weight loss, the fist 25 lbs fell off with every birth, i maintained the last 10-15 for the first year. i didn`t diet because i was bf but ate healthy. but after they weaned it took a month of exercise and diet to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. i am so glad to hear you are dedicated to giving your baby the best start with bf. i hope you love it as much as i do! wub.gif btw, no AF for me for almost a year with first 2 kids smile.gif

amynicole21 replied:
That's the same boat I'm in... the 50lbs I gained during pregnancy came off within 2 months, but the 50 I gained since high school won't budge tongue.gif

Glad the appointment went so well! Not long now happy.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Awww I totally understand what your going through! I want to wear all those cute summer clothes too, and everytime I go to the mall I almost always want to burst out and cry, but I'm doing better. Anyways Im glad Maddie is doing well! (oh and I bet you didnt gain NEARLY as much weight as i did so dont feel to bad!) ((((BIG HUGS)))

MommyToAshley replied: Glad to hear Maddie is doing great! Way to grow, Maddie! biggrin.gif

As for how you are feeling about the weight, I think it is only normal... especially in the last trimester. However, I think most women are at their prettiest when they are PG. There is just something about them that makes them glow. So, go buy yourself a really cute maternity sundress. They make really cute maternity clothes now. I guess they finally figured out that you are having a baby, you don't want to dress like one.

Don't worry. You'll be back to your old self in no time if you eat right and excercise. (((HUGS)))

kit_kats_mom replied:
It took me 16 months and I'm still not regular...about every two months or so. I love it!!!

Also, try being 9 mos preggo in August in hot, humid FL. Talk about feeling gross. I think I was up to 3 showers a day at one point. I showered in the morning, put on my suit & hose, went to work, came home for lunch, showered, put on a new outfit, went back to work, came home, showered and pretty much lived in dresses and shorts at home in front of the fan eating popcicles. It was awful. bawling.gif

One thing about not dieting. I'm on Ww and you get an extra 10 points per day if you are a nursing mother. I get to eat as much as my 250lb DH! Its crazy. Now I'm wondering if I'm nursing her just so I can eat? Just kidding. unsure.gif

CantWait replied: Glad to hear your appt went well today. Don't feel bad about feeling selfish, you're entitled to. Try not to worry too much about the weight, you'll be having your baby at the perfect time. You'll be able to go for walks all summer long, plus if your bf you should lose your weight in no time. thumb.gif

MomToMany replied: thumb.gif I'm glad that your appointment went well!!

I guess I'm one of the few who never lost weight BFing. I don't over-eat, and the weight never came off. AF stayed away until 11 mos. PP, which was great.

Maybe tandem nursing will burn more. I'm *crossing my fingers*!!!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: grouphug.gif Awww honey! I know how you feel! I am having a problem getting used to the idea that "I just can't wear those jeans in the closet no matter how many times I try to put them on!" LOL! I look like I could wear them, but my body just hasn't gone back to it's original shape yet. I know it will and it gets better every day, but it has only been a week and it takes a little time. It is mostly the hips right now. Just don't expect too much out of your body the first few weeks. I have some excercises that the hospital suggested I do to get my abdomen back down to size and to get the muscles strengthened. Of course bfing has helped tremendously with the uterus shrinking down to size as well. I am adamant this time about losing the weight and keeping it off. I want to look good these days (especially since I am sporting a size DD chest!) rolling_smile.gif That also helps with camouflaging the tummy! wink.gif

Hope you feel better. You don't have much longer to go!

chloe&tysmommy replied: Glad to hear your little Maddie is doing great, it won't be long now!!! And I'm sure you will lose the weight no problem! happy.gif
