Does anyone else get eczema?

For the past few months I've had it on my left elbow and on the side of my leg, level with my knee. They're not very big though, which is good, but nothing will make them go away permanantly. I used to get it on my stomach so I had a cream for it from then, but that didn't work. I also tried the medicine I put on my scalp, but that didn't work either. Then I put Bepanthen on them and that made it go away, but it came back again within days..
So does anyone else know anything that makes it go away??
cameragirl21 replied: take some evening primrose oil, it'll be gone in a couple weeks and if you keep taking it you'll never get eczema again.
Nina J replied: Thanks so much I've heard of it, but I never knew what it was used for.
lgood22573 replied: I've had eczema my entire life, I get it on my hands and feet. It was severe as a child, but I grew out of it except for every great once and a while I'll get a break out. Have a little on my big toes right now! I have a prescription with steroids that knocks it out in about a day. I never found anything OTC that worked worth a hoot. I always scratch in my sleep and that makes it so much worse.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I just bought evening primrose oil yesterday, but I thought it was for PMS.
I suppose I'll kill 2 birds w/one stone then b/c my eczema is horrible right now. I have it on my face, but it's not real noticeable. It just hurts. I also have it really bad on the insides of my elbows. It's not painful there, but it's so ugly. And I have some spots on my arms and legs.
I dont' like the winter.
cameragirl21 replied: it works for both pms and skin conditions. or so they say, i've never had any problems with pms but i can testify to how well it works on skin conditions....
mom21kid2dogs replied: The only thing that makes it go away on me is Spring!
I do use humidifiers when we use the furnance and that does seem to help.
boyohboyohboy replied: my son has eczema really bad,and the only that helps is to stay ahead of it, and treat it proactively, we use the aquafor cream daily, that seems to help. but our prescription med that works the best is dermasmooth, its great because it sinks right into the skin, and smells great.
redplaydoh replied: DH had it severely on his hands and feet a few years ago. It was so bad his fingers looked like raw meat. It was on the soles of his feet too so walking was excruciating. He was on prescription steroids and that didn't even clear it up. He had it for about 2 years before it went away. He gets small outbreaks now when he's stressed...
I'm going to look into the primrose oil for him because I'm convinced he has it on his scalp too...
boyohboyohboy replied: can a child take primerose oil?
Maddie&EthansMom replied: The bottle says "For adults, take one tablet three times daily with food" The 'tablet' is a horse pill, btw.
cameragirl21 replied: yes. either use the liquid OR take a capsule and puncture it with a (clean, sterilized) needle and pour a few drops (that's all a child ages 2 and under needs daily) into his bottle or whatever he drinks. i've known people to use this on babies less than six months old with no side effects. just don't overdo it, a few drops are all a baby needs.
