Does anyone have this dollhouse?
coasterqueen wrote: If so do you like it? Is it made well? How tall is it, really? Any info would be greatly appreciated
P.S. It's the Imaginarium Grandview Dollhouse
moped replied: No but it sure looks sweet.....man I know a kid that would love it - how much are they?
In a couple years I will be getting one!
coasterqueen replied: $250. Ryan and I were thinking this would be the BIG gift from Santa. It's a pretty good deal because it comes fully furnished.
My2Beauties replied: No we don't we have a different Barbie House and they have a dollhouse, but that's cute, I love it! Not bad for $250 if furniture is included.
Calimama replied: No, but that's a GREAT price.
coasterqueen replied: Which Barbie house do you have? We've looked at them, too, as whatever house we get would be for barbies, but the ones I've seen so far, remind me of the ones when I was young and they were never really made well - they broke real easy.
jcc64 replied: We have last year's version, Karen. It's perfect for Barbies, but it's HUGE. It's got an elevator and a disco ball--what more could you want??? Corey doesn't really play with the dolls inside it anymore--now she takes the furniture out and uses it on the floor. I still think it was well worth the money.
coasterqueen replied: Hmm, so are you telling me Kylie won't play with it? Ah my kids never play with any toys, though, so not sure why I'm even contemplating it, but what else is Santa supposed to get. She just started getting interested in Barbie's and has asked for the house, but then again like I said they ask for stuff, play with it for a month and then don't use it anymore.
My2Beauties replied: I have the Beach House I think, I 'll have to look it up online it's been a year maybe two since they got it, heck I can't even remember. It's stayed pretty put together, the door in one of the rooms has come off once I think but was able to put it right back on. It's been pretty durable and that's good when it comes to my kids!!!
youngmomofone replied: oh man my dd would LOVE that. She still has a playschool my first doll house something or another so she needs an upgrade
Crystalina replied: THat is GREAT! That comes with the furniture? Izabella has the big one that tri-folds. It has an elevator and I found it at a flea market with all the dolls and furniture included for $20!!!! It's really big and in GREAT shape. The lady selling it got it for her step-daughter who decided not to live with them anymore and then the little girl and her mom moved out of state so she just wanted some of the stuff gone. Sad story but I will deffinatly take your $20 doll house lady.
MommyToAshley replied: Ashley has one very similar to this one with the elevator: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3454155
She's had it for a few years but doesn't play with it much unless her friends that are coming over play Barbies. Most kids love the elevator on it. Ashley's more into Polly Pockets. Although, she does take the furniture out once in a while and use it creatively for other stuff.
coasterqueen replied: Yeah, I saw that one. I wish I could see them all put together, kwim? I wonder if TRU has displays, probably not. How tall is that one that Ashley has? Kylie plays with Polly Pockets as well, both girls do, but they also will play with their barbies as well. This will be a joint gift for them to play together.
MommyToAshley replied: I think it's around 4ft or close to that? If you lived close, I'd sell it to you very cheaply or give it to you as it's hardly been played with. It still looks brand new, but I am sure the shipping wouldn't make it worth it.
When I bought it, they had a display at the store. I bought it from Toys R Us, but it's been a few years.
coasterqueen replied:
Thanks for the offer. I'll check TRU and see if they have a display. We really like the one I posted, but it seems awefully grandiose, kwim? Maybe the smaller (CHEAPER ) one might work just as well.
bluebear replied: How tall is the one that you posted? I had a popular Fisher Price one when I was little. http://www.mydreamdollhouse.com/fisher_price_dollhouses.html it's the 1993 model- newer ones now, obviously. I remember I could fit Barbie dolls in it, it came with dolls (I think?) and it was mostly for sitting down and playing with. You could close it up with all the dolls in it too without a problem. I know you're looking for a bigger one, but I remember it could have two people using it at the same time, so I don't think it would be a problem with both your girls playing with it.
jcc64 replied: Karen, I think I probably have the same one as Dee Dee, and ours is about 4' tall--definitely taller than Corey. It's well made, and I don't regret buying it, tbh. Like I said, she still mainly plays on her floor, but I think the house figures into her imaginary play enough of the time that I do feel it was a good purchase. Corey's a Barbie-a-holic--if your kids are, then I'd say go for it.
coasterqueen replied: I definitely think the two of them playing together it will fall into the imaginary play and a good purchase for the two of them. They are no barbie-holics, but they don't really have enough to do anything with, kwim? They do play with what they have, though, so I think they'll like it.
