Does anyone know of any?

Even if I wake up middle of the night go to the bathroom or if I need wake up for the kids, I have a hard time going back to sleep.
I was wondering if anyone knows of somethings I can try, help me go to sleep easier? DH doesn't want me to try any sleeping pills, yet. He said he would rather me try some other things before trying them. He said he is afraid I would get addicted to them.
I don't know, I have always been this way even as a teenager.
I'm willing to try just about anything, just so I can get a good nights rest.
C&K*s Mommie replied: Have you tried Yoga? I used to do it a long time ago, and it would relax me to the point that during the relaxation part of the video (I did it in the comfort of my own home) I would zonk out in seconds. And I would awaken in the middle of the floor, feeling refreshed.
Momof3inMe replied: How about something like advilPM or soemthing like that? I dont think they are as strong as a sleeping pill.
3xsthefun replied: Well, that is what I was kinda talking about. I really don't want go to a doctor. Anyways for some reason he still thinks it is a bad idea.
I'll see what he can come up with or maybe someone else here can com up with first.
kit_kats_mom replied: are you getting any exercise during the day? Like, before 3pm?
luvmykids replied: Melatonin. I have the same problem, being tired but not being able to go to sleep some nights. They're natural and don't totally conk you out like a sleeping pill, I still wake up if one of the kids does, and in the morning there's no grogginess. I only take a half and it's just a nice drifting off type feel.
3xsthefun replied: If you mean by working out, no. I do walk some and do house chores, which I consider light exercise. But other then that. No.
3xsthefun replied: Hmm..might have to see if I can find that. Thanks.
redchief replied: I'm probably the last person to advise on sleep disorders, since I'm the poster child for them, but much of that is due to my environment. I'm told there are four things vital to a good night's sleep.
In no order:
1. Adequate exercise 2. Good diet, including limiting or eliminating caffeine and too much sugar 3. Time; allow yourself time to wind down from your day in a peaceful setting 4. Resolution; Don't go to bed with important matters unresolved
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Hehe heh.... a glass (or two) of wine... a beer... a nice glass of Bailey's on the rocks...
if all else fails.. a cup of chamomile tea, or if I'm feeling sick... a cup of NeoCitran.
All of the above make me fall asleep withint 10 minutes if I lie down.
A&A'smommy replied: try a glass of wine, or baileys (i like it in hot chocolate or on the rocks is yummy too), exercise or stretching or both that is what works for me
Masons Mummy replied: Lavender is great for helping to sleep. I use a small amount on my son its great. The only problem is the smell sometimes reminds me of old ladies, but i do find it very relaxing. Get some Lavender bath and candles and have a soak and put a few drops of the oil on your pillow.
Hope the helps and its all natural x
3xsthefun replied: Thanks, for the suggestions. I will just have to try them and see which work.
