Does anyone speak Spanish

ammommy wrote: Alec has been going around the house for the last couple of days saying "uno, dos, tres, alovase" I know what 1-3 are but wht in the world could the last word be ? I spelled it phonetically because I don't know what he is saying. dunno.gif

guertin31 replied:
yo no say nadda....

(i have no idea) LOL rolleyes.gif

Whitney&Candace'sMommy replied: I don't know what he's trying to say, I'm pretty sure thats not a spanish word..

he sound's like he know's his espaƱola pretty well though! maybe he's just trying to say cuatro and is getting really confused..

kimberley replied: i speak Dora, does that count? happy.gif no clue on alovase dunno.gif

mckayleesmom replied: MAYBE he is just mixing something up.

ammommy replied:
That is where he heard the saying, I'm sure. I have a feeling that it's two words that he is combining into one.

He does know his Spanish pretty well. He asked to learn it around the beginning of the year so we've been working on what I remember. I got a good kid's Spanish/English dictionary and we choose a word every 3-4 days to work on. He can count higher in Spanish than English rolling_smile.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Maybe Dora was looking for a Love Vase or something.....A love vase ='s Alovase laugh.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied:
I don't think that would be appropriate on Dora laugh.gif

amymom replied: Maybe it is something they were counting ... Like 1,2,3 monkees or some such thing. Like a song.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Could be 'one, two three, all of us'.... lol

Could he be saying Estrellas (spelled phonetically I hitnk) (stars)

or even a twited version of vamanos.... (let`s go)

We have just about every Dora DVD there is - and I know them pretty much by heart... never heard that though...

A&A'smommy replied:
I bet that is what he is trying to say!!

msoulz replied: Perhaps he is running four, five, and six together as three and six rhyme, as well as ten rhymes with three and six (the rhyming helped me learn!) and we were taught to group them:

uno dos tres
quatro cinco seis
siete ocho nueve diez

I know my son runs words together a lot!

My2Beauties replied: That is what I was going to say - he could be running cuato cinco and seis together and coming up with alovase, Hanna runs her words together all the time. Like when she asks to put her shoe on, she said I ant (want, pronounced aunt) my shone mommy (shoe on mommy)! rolling_smile.gif

maestra replied: I speak Spanish! Sorry I haven't been around much lately- new house (another story!)

Anyway, what you wrote isn't a word in spanish, but it could be quatro cinco seis like the other people said (4, 5, 6) or it could be otra vez (which means again)
or, a la vez (which means at a time).

Sorry- toddler speak can be hard to interpret in any language! wavey.gif

CantWait replied:
thumb.gif I think it's got to be one of those for sure

msoulz replied: OOH! Otra vez makes more sense, especially in a song!! thumb.gif

ammommy replied:
redbounce.gif That's it thumb.gif

Thank you so much. I knew that he wasn't running his numbers together and it was driving me nuts. THANK YOU!!!!

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
Actually, <Aloves> is bald spot, or hair loss, isn't it?

that's what I though it was, anyways....
