Dogs cure diaper rash? - yucky ca-ca! IMO

Crystalina wrote: I love Rosie O'Donnell but I think she's lost her ever-lovin' mind. She says that she heard from a ped. that the best way to cure diaper rash is to find a dog (preferably one who has just had puppys) and let them lick the diaper rash area. The dogs mouth has aneseptic (sp), yes I've heard that also, and it will cure the diaper rash. I know that dogs have healing mouths but that is just gross. My kids have only had diaper rash once and that is when they were on anitbiotics and the best thing for me was to wash them and let them air dry (or the original Desitan if it was really bad).

Would you? Could you?
This is totally my opinion on the matter and would not think less of anyone who did it. For me though...I just couldn't.

lisar replied: I would so not try this. I dont think I could let my dog do it.

mom2my2cuties replied: Would I? - NOPE

Could I? - NOPE

I had a dog right after Mikee was born jump up and start licking his bottom while I was using a wipe on a particularly nasty diaper change - and that was almost too much for me.

And honestly - no matter how clean someone tells me it is - Animals lick not only thier own privates but other animals as well - noooooo.gif They aren't licking on my or my kids

mckayleesmom replied: I will stick to Desitin. biggrin.gif

luvmykids replied: Uh, no, I don't believe I could do that puke.gif

holley79 replied: huh.gif I would never allow my dog to lick my daughter's diaper rash. This may work for someone else but it's not for me. I will stick to butt paste. biggrin.gif

BAC'sMom replied: ohmy.gif no thank you

1lilpeanut2love replied: I watch The View. I heard her say that a few weeks ago and I couldn't believe what I had heard. NO WAY would I ever allow a dog cure diaper rash!!!! EWWWHHH!

redchief replied: Nah... although I seem to remember as a kid I used to let my dog lick my cuts. dunno.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Hee hee! I wouldn't do it strictly because it's such a sensitive body part and other bacteria can get inside privates. Lemme tell you a story though...

My grandfather died last year from cancer. He had a huge rash all over his body...if you want to call it a rash...it was more like open oozing sores. Anyways... we had a small dog, and whenever the dog was around my grandfather, he'd unbotton his sleeves or raise his pant leg or watever...and let the dog lick his bobos. The dog could sit there for a whole hour, just licking my grandfather's arm or leg.

We had the dog put down last year... and my grandfather died only a few months after. Once the dog died, my grandfather's wounds got worse and worse, he lost more weight, and rapidly degenerated from that point, to where he died, wound-covered flesh and bones.

Did the dog's mouth keep him "better"? Maybe. All I konw is that when the dog died...my grandfather got worse. Would I let my dog lick cuts on my arms or mny legs, had I a dog? Yes. Would I let it lick my butt crack? NO.

CantWait replied: LOL Rocky you put things so tackfully emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif

As for the question at hand, ummmmm

NO

Boys r us replied: NO WAY....NO HOW!!!!!!!!! puke.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied:
dito.gif saywha.gif dunno.gif puke.gif

Jolyn replied: When i heard her say this i knew she is just a nut job!!!!!

No i would never let a dog do that. Dogs mouths are not as clean as some people think. They lick their a** and eat crap for crying out loud. How clean can they be? Ewwwwwwwwwwww!!!

kimberley replied: blink.gif ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww! no way! airing them out is the best cure!

Jolyn replied: Oh and in my opinion someone that would do this is violating the child. I would think that could be abuse imo!!!!

Kaitlin'smom replied: NO WAY...YUCK I cant stand when dogs lick me.

My3LilMonkeys replied: Licking a cut to heal it I have done. Licking my childs butt, no thanks.
