Don't tell anyone, but...
Twelve Volt Man wrote: I have decided to play hookey tomorrow, so don't tell my boss. For the last month, I've been getting up at 4:30 AM to drive 2 hours for K9 training with my new dog. In the afternoons, I then drive home. Once home, I have a half hour of reports to do. I then try to spend a little time with my wife and son before it's time to go to bed. I only have two weeks left to endure this hectic schedule, but I'm in need of a break. So, I have decided to enjoy the perfect weather we've been having, and am going to skip training tomorrow. My wife works tomorrow, and I'm going to let her take Sam to the babysitter's so I can have the day to myself. Since next weekend is a four day weekend for me, I'll be off on Friday. That's gonna be a dad and Sam day! For now, though, I am kicking off my day of relaxation by watching the Bears game and enjoying some chilly, sudsy beverages.

Training is going very well, thanks. He was already trained, and has been on the street for a couple years, but I am his new handler, so we have to go through the whole thing together. He's a full-service police dog, so he does tracking, narcotics detection, and apprehension work.

What kind of dog is it? Shepherd? I have one - she is my first baby and I love her dearly - they are such wonderful, loyal, faithful, protective animals and she loves loves loves the kids - even when they climb on her when she is trying to nap

I can barely get up at 6:00 am on the days I have to be at the preschool so I can't imagine 4:30 
Good luck to you and your police dog though, they are such amazing creatures.
My uncle's the interim police chief in his town in North Carolina and his bloodhound "Officer Morse" has become quite famous around the town. He's pretty intimidating to those criminals
