Dr Appointment - 12/13/05

I am no 2 cm and 80% effaced. As of 5 pm this afternoon I was placed on maternity leave. I'm not on bed rest she just wants me out of work. Let's all pray that Annika gets here quickly and healthy. I don't want to burn up too much time before she gets here. Last week I was 1 cm and 90 % softened.

What is the difference in softened and effaced? I forgot to ask her and I can't find anything online.

My2Beauties replied: Well did you see a different doctor? Softened and effaced are one in the same - if they were different docs it's just their interpretation of how effaced you are. I remember with Hanna it seemed like I was effaced forever with one nurse and I was going to go "any day now" and the other nurse was like you're normal and you're not gonna go early, you might even be late. I was 2 days early BTW!

holley79 replied: I always see the same doctor. If I had to switch up all the time I think I would scream. I think her terminology varies when she has had a VERY long day. I was one of her last patients.

She's probably going to kill me tomorrow when I go in for my follow up appointment. I decided to clean out the hall closet now I don't have ankles. Just calves attached to ballons. OPPS.

Well i am going to go lay down and take a nap. I am in such a horrible mood.

sunrosejenn replied: I'm surprised your OB didn't send you to the hospital. I had migraines, high bp, protein in my urine (all these are associated with pre-eclampsia) and was admited to the hospital. At first he was going to do a 24 hour urine but decided to keep me instead.

Eliana was born at 37w 6d and I was scheduled for a induction at 39w.

Trust me I have already filled out all my paperwork for my epidural. LOL.

Thanks for listening to me whine ladies. I swore when I got prego I wasn't going to be whinny but I guess I was wrong.

kimberley replied: hang in there Holley. not much longer now. it is hard not to whine when EVERYTHING SUCKS the last few weeks lol. hope we both get some rest soon.

Well tonight is a full moon, do you think that will help us out? LOL. My grandpa is going with 4 days after the full moon.

Did you get your tub yet??

holley79 replied: Well she said everything is looking good. I have to go back on Monday for another follow up.

I am NOW going to bed. My sleep schedule is really messed up.
