Drug test question - kinda weird today

My df thinks maybe they found something in my test and needed to tell me to go to a doctor but yet I can't get any answers or figure it out. I thought maybe they found out I was pregnant but I am on the pill and don't know why they would even test for that. I used to do heavy drugs in my past but that was over 3yrs ago so I doubt that would still be in my system and I refuse to ever touch anything again. I passed 2 drug tests last yr including one for a hossy so I know it couldn't be the drugs from my past. I am worried now and have never heard of a place transfering to a doc to say nothing is wrong. I am babbling but this is making me worried.

redchief replied: No, something was found if they were transferring you to the doctor. Don't panic, though. It could be dietary, such as too much iron or calcium, too little of something. I wouldn't get too upset about it until you speak with the doctor to find out what concerned him about your sample. If it was something extremely serious and immediately life threatening, they would have kept trying to contact you today. If you tested posi for drugs, I think you'd have simply gotten a refusal of employment call.

I recall a couple of years ago when I was at a NASCAR event in Daytona, my buddies and I all went into the "Men's Health" screening tent. The other guys went ahead of me and I came last. Techs came out and gave the result to each of my compatriots; all good, a couple a little bit high in cholesterol. I sat and waited, and waited, and waited. I was almost ready to leave when one of the techs came to me finally. He said, "The doctor would like to see you."

*GASP* Doctor? At any rate, I get in back and meet the doc and he tells me my cholesterol is way too high and gives me advice to follow up with my primary at home, dietary adjustments, etc. I definitely got my money's worth out of it though (it was completely free). Now I just have to take better care of myself. I said this so you would know that I do know what you're going through. I say wait to worry until you have something to worry about.

flirtycuddle replied: Thanx that helped ease my mind alot. I have always been low on iron since I had my dd so maybe that is what they found. I thought they just tested for drugs and not the other stuff so that is why I sorta got worried

luvmykids replied: I think I heard that some herbal supplements and other random things, like poppyseed, can give a false positive but like Ed said, I think you would have just gotten a "thanks but no thanks" call.

Its very true about poppyseeds
Poppyseed = opium

We use them on certain rolls that we make at school

But you would have to eat so many of those to get any effect off of them you would be sick of them

But for the opium to show up in the blood test you would have to eat them everyday

lisar replied: Here where I live I had a guy go for a drug test once. Guess what the office where he had it done called me and told me that HE was pregnant. Needless to say he didnt get hired. lol But sometimes they do test it for things like that to make sure its your urine. But I thought they only done that when it was guy.

holley79 replied: If I remember correctly it was told to me you would have to eat a 5 pound bag of straight poppy seeds for it to pop on a drug test.

I'm with Ed on this one though. If you had "popped" positive then you would have gotten and "Thank you for your time but you are not needed" letter from the employer. I think it may just be a little something that showed up taht's not overly serious.

JanetH replied: no it wouldn't be the drugs you did three years ago. No drug stays in your system that long. Secondly did you think about calling walgreens back and telling them what happened? They should easily be able to bring up your file or what have you and give you the number again.

flirtycuddle replied: I called walgreens and they told me to call the quest diagonositcs center I had it done at cuz she had no clue what was going on. I called quest and they told they dont tell the patient anything so call walgreens in which I did again. She is calling employee relations today to try and find out what is going on. The manager has no clue why they would transfer me to a doctor and has never had anyone say they have done that before which is what made me worry even more. She hasn't gotten my results back yet either. She should be calling me today sometime to tell me what is going on. Oh yea I don't eat poppyseed muffins lol

gr33n3y3z replied: thats not good at all hmmm maybe it was a scam I just hope it wasnt that bc I never had a pharmacy ask me that bc they have no reason to know that number bc they go by birth date and address

flirtycuddle replied: it was the last 4 digits of my ssn and didn't think anything of it when they asked... if she doesn't call me by 2 she told me to call her back and when I do I will ask

flirtycuddle replied: I don't belive this. I failed the test but only cuz of perscrition darvacet that I take daily but only liek once or twice a day. I had to call her back today for her tell me I failed and then told her that I won't do drugs so what the heck. Found out that pain killers can cause a fail and then they call you(hense the doc thing yesterday) to see if you have a script or not. When I got disconnected they just wrote it off a fail and no contact or something like that. She is calling employee relations again tomorrow to tell them what happened and see what now but more then likly I wont get the job now.

And if you have a scrpit from the Dr or have the Dr write a note maybe they will let you have the job

flirtycuddle replied: I still have just about the whole bottle of the stuff so it's not like I take it all the time and you can see right on the bottle it's current and all that. I just happend to take 2 the day before with out thinking about the drug test testing for it. Last time I had a drug test they asked for everything you take over the counter or perscription before they even tested you this time they didn't. I would have been starting on Monday if this hadn't happened now it wont be till sometime next week if she doesnt just hire someone else cuz they need someone now

flirtycuddle replied: its a narcotic and now the drug testing places test for 10 things for the same price as the orginal 5 and one of the added drugs was the main ingredient. It shocked me to cuz I thougth it was more mild then say percocet or vicoden which I knew would fail you. I even called a pharmacist to see if it would fail you just to make sure(i know thats the only thing I have taken that can even possibly fail me) and she said if I took it with in a week of the test then definatly.

redchief replied: Basically Darvocet (Vicodin, Tylenol #3) contains propoxyphene hydrochloride, which is a synthetic anagesic with similar characteristics as methadone, which is used to treat heroin addicts. In urine it is almost impossible to tell the difference between the two, other than they would come as as synthetic analgesic class. Since you have a prescription for them and they are considered low risk for dependency, you should be able to have your results reviewed favorably. Good luck.
