Easter Egg Hunting - photos

DansMom wrote: Some of you remember the terrible Easter Egg Hunt we attended last year (where parents filled pillowcases with eggs as fast as they could and many toddlers ended up with nothing). This year we did our own egg hunt in the back yard with Daniel and his two cousins, Johnny and Maya. They had a great time!

Just like last year, Daniel was too focused on the project to smile. Here is the closest thing to a smile from him this year!

DansMom replied: This is him filling his basket.

DansMom replied: This just shows the untended state of our yard and the snow that still lingers on Easter here in Michigan! At least there's a green something or other in the foreground. tongue.gif

Daniel's finding the Egg that was in the birdbath.

DansMom replied: Just to complete the tale, Maya and Daniel (who are both toddlers) each had a section of the back yard with their own eggs, so they could take their time without either one of them getting more than the other. Johnny, who is 7 years old, lives next door, and we have a large portion of our common fence removed (it's jokingly referred to as the compound by our husbands, since my sister and I love having the huge shared backyard for our boys to play in). So Johnny's eggs were in his back yard, and they were much more cleverly hidden since he's older.

Daniel's Easter basket this morning was filled with fruit. He loves grapes and just started stuffing his face with those. Because of his allergies most chocolate is off limits, and he's never had hard candy to date. He doesn't like cookies or cake---weird, I know. So he got fruit, marbles and coins in his basket.

For the Easter egg hunt, he got small toys and animal figures and stickers.

mammag replied: Aww what cute pictures! He is sooo sweet! wub.gif

I love your yard....at least what I could see. It looks so naturey (is that a word? unsure.gif ). We had our house built in a subdivision where they basically stripped the land and I miss trees and leaves. sad.gif

Daisyx3 replied: Hes sooo cute.. What a sweetie pie.

Sounds like a great idea to have it in your yard, it looks like Daniel had a great time. I love the expression on his face in the first photo.

We didn't go to our Easter egg hunt for our neighborhood either because it was so rainy and muddy. We had to hide our eggs inside, but Ashley had fun finding them anyways.

Josie83 replied: Look at the concentration on your boy's face! I'm glad he had a more successful Easter egg hunt this year! he's getting so big (andhandsome!) Tracy! wub.gif thanks for sharing thos ephotos, you have such a sweetie pie! smile.gif xx

We were going to do an outdoor hunt but I was afraid either the fire ants or the gators would get the eggs. dry.gif

BTW- my neighbor has a door in her fence in the back because her sister lives there and they just go through the yard instead of going around he block. I think that is so great!!! I wish my sisters lived next door!

gr33n3y3z replied: He is such a handsome boy
We stopped many years ago doing the town Easter Egg hunt for the same reason as you did.

mom21kid2dogs replied: Awww . . looks like he had a great time!

We went to a small EE Hunt at a nursing home. O liked it alot. There was a 5 egg limit~which I thought was a great way to deal with the hoarding problem.
