Eat it or toss it?
My3LilMonkeys wrote: I knew when I unpacked my groceries yesterday that something was missing, but I figured I forgot to buy whatever it was. Well, I found it today under the car seat - a big container of yogurt.
It hasn't gone above 20 degrees so it was frozen. Can I still eat it, or should I toss it?
Calimama replied: I would toss it, but then I'm super picky about stuff like that. Oh.. I missed the part where it was frozen.. could still be okay then.
Anthony275 replied: i think you can eat it
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I wouldn't take a chance.
Crystalina replied: Should be ok.
::ETA:: I wouldn't give it to the kids though but for an adult it should be ok.
msoulz replied: It's yogurt - if it isn't blue & fuzzy, go for it!!
A&A'smommy replied: um if it was as cold in your car as it is in your fridge its fine if you feel weird about it follow your instinct and don't eat it
grandma replied: It's fine, it's yogurt and it was 20 degrees......
My3LilMonkeys replied: Thanks guys - I didn't know if freezing yogurt did anything weird to it.
Anthony275 replied: so are you going to eat it?
My3LilMonkeys replied: I'll taste it and if the flavor and texture are okay, then yes!
luvmykids replied: I think texture might be the only problem, I don't know about yogurt but if sour cream is frozen and then thawed it can get a little curdy or watery. Let us know
Kentuckychick replied: Usually I'd say NO WAY! But seeing as it was colder outside than it typically is in a refrigerator... I'd say you're safe
When we had the ice storm several years back and lost power for a week, we took everything out of the freezer that hadn't already melted or thawed (ice cream didn't last!) and stuck it in a cooler of the ice (from outside) on our back porch where it was around 20-25 degrees. It was so completely frozed that things started sticking together.
Ya do what ya gotta do!
