Eerie feelings - do you act on them?

Last night, on my way in from class, I got this very strange feeling, that was inexplicable. I had this strong urge to call Chris. Which I never do, as I am leaving class, unless I am stopping for a reason and not coming straight in. I called his cell, it was off. Called the house, he answered said everything is kosher, and he was on watching tv with the girls. Following the conversation, I still could not shake that feeling, and I could not get it off my mind. It never was explained, I came straight on in. But that was wierd....
Things like: if you get the urge to not take the normal route you go, do you take a detour? Do you call someone that happens to pop into your mind, and you find out it was at the right time they needed a call from you, etc etc etc.... Any eerie feeling you act on is really the question.
ashtonsmama replied: Sometimes...I do KWYM, but try to not obcess about them you know? That's JMO.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Oh yes! I know what you mean about the eerie feelings. I has happened to me before while driving some where and deciding to take a differant way there for whatever reason. I always wonder that maybe something bad would have happened if I had taken the original way or whatever.
Isn't it just so strange how it hits you? I always think there is some reason why it has to happen whether it be make that phone call, take a differant way home or do this first then go there.
ZandersMama replied: I almost always act on an eerie feeling. I think its womans intuiton. We just know more when something is going to happen. There have been a few times when I knew someone was hurting and didnt know who, thats when it gets scarey, you get the feeling but dont know what its for.
ilovemybaby replied: Sometimes but most of the time no.
luvbug00 replied: I also feel it's mom intuition. I know when somthing bad is going to happen. I just feel it. I also will act on any hint of a twinge in my tummy..( even if it does turn out to be my tummy telling me to hi the taco bell drive threw)
holley79 replied: 98% of the time when someone starts weighing heavily on my mind I always call them. About 50% of the time something is going on. Anytime that I get the "feeling" I always try not to ignore it. I use to when I was younger but it's always better to go with "gut".
Ashlynn's Mommy replied: Yes, I do, sometimes. When I don't act on a bad feeling, and something happens I always say to myself "I should have listened to myself".
MommyToAshley replied: I have never gotten eerie feelings out of the blue like that. But, I will often think that I should stop Ashley from doing something and then she ends up getting hurt. But.. not the same as what you are talking about.
However, I am beginning to wonder if Ashley has those feelings. Let me give you just one example: She pays very close attention to the stop lights when I am driving... she will tell me to go when it is green and to stop when it is red. A few weeks ago, we were sitting at at red light and it turned green. I started to pull out in the intersection, when Ashley yells, "STOP MOM!!!! so I slammed on my breaks just as a reaction. Then, she says, "don't go yet". And, a second later there was a collision in the intersection. An older gentleman ran a red light. If I had gone, that would have been us. I still don't know why she told me not to go.
redchief replied: Hmmm... Eerie feelings or hunches? Yep, I act on them all the time.
luvmykids replied: Sounds crazy I'm sure, but I usually pray on it for a quick second and go from there. Sometimes I think it's just a heads up that something is going to happen, like the time I was on my way to the airport and thought I'd better check on Macie one last time. Nothing was wrong with her, but my mom had just fallen and broken her ankle and couldn't watch her after all. Other times it's a true preventative type thing, like not going somewhere and an accident happening at the time/place I would have been there.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Yes I do. I also believe that sometimes God's hand is in those same feelings.
The way I look at it is If I am just being silly then no harm done but If I am in fact right then Hey I am better off! Oh and I am not trying to say that it is a psychic type thing my mom calls it the Still small voice...
CantWait replied: I can't say I've ever had those feelings, but Ron does all the time, and he always acts on them, and he's always right. That in itself is eerie to me.
C&K*s Mommie replied: Dee Dee, that was very wierd, about Ashley telling you to stop. WOW! I am speechless. Glad she did after all, but unusual that a child would have the ability to sense danger.
Praying for a quick sec (of course if you believe in the power of prayer) is not crazy at all.
I agree with you, Abbie, I believe it is GOD/ the angels telling you something.
Thanks to everyone who responded.
