I had half the fire department show up to discourage the boy. I think it worked. He did, however, say it was okay to post picture of him and Erin, so I'm working on that now.

I'm having a real hard time with her dating. She was my baby. By that I mean she was a daddy's girl (they both are). It fills me with mixed emotions. I'm saddened that she's not my little baby anymore. I'm proud of the independent young woman she's becoming. There isn't much that can pull tears from my eyes. This does.

Did you ever notice that kids don't look nearly as dorky and ridiculous as we did in our prom pictures- they all look like Hollywood royalty now. The dress, the hair, the whole deal. Just lovely, guys. Kwym Ed about seeing your little girl growing up- ds is only 13, but already becoming his own person- and it's just so bittersweet to see them growing away from us.

ROFL... I had really, REALLY bad '80's hair. You know the style... longish, parted down the middle and combed back over the ears. When I see those pix today I cringe.
I wish that was our backyard... Heheh... That piece of real estate is a little outside of my budget, but it is right across the street at our neighbor's house.

Brias3 replied: They are a really cute couple. She's just gorgeous and what a pretty dress! I love that color. I also love how she wore part of her hair down. I think that looks so pretty with a formal dress instead of the tight updo styles all the time.

The hair style was actually an afterthought and almost didn't happen. She went to the salon to get her nails done earlier in the day and was going to do her hair herself, but Lisa noted that the salon wasn't that busy and asked Erin again if she wouldn't like her hair done and she agreed. It really was an eleventh hour decision. I agree that her hair was perfect for the dress... Unfortunately I suppose I have to get used to the idea of Erin growing up.
Either that or start booking convent tours now.

Its so hard to see them grow up but its so much harder letting go and letting them grow up its so hard to explain and tons of emotions go with it.
As parents we hope they make all the right choices
