Everyone wish me luck
My2Beauties wrote: As you all know I am disgruntled with my current employer and have been for quite some time now. Our medical insurance beginning the new plan year in July is absolutely horrendous and very expensive, they moved us to a new High Deductible Health Plan or a Coverage First PPO both with high premiums and extremely high deductibles. It's absolutely awful. My manager is a raving lunatic and she makes me I hate answering phones all day, the associates that I talk to on a daily basis are rude, dumb, and blatantly disrespectful to us in this department. They call about short paychecks and what not and 95% of the time it's their fault because they filled out their timesheet incorrectly or something. We didn't get our raises when we were supposed to and I am just really dissatisfied with this place. Granted, I've been here less than one year but I have no desire to work for a company that runs this way, they do not do any empowering of their employees and they constantly micro manage you!
So, I applied for a position with our City water Company a couple weeks ago. Well I got a call back yesterday afternoon. I contacted the lady back this morning and I have an interview at 2:30 on Thursday for an Administrative Assistant position. The starting salary is $10-15k above what I make now, the city employee's benefits are absolutely wonderful and cheap, not to mention I would have retirement there and 401k, not just an iffy 401k like I do here. I could retire at 54 I would be an administrative assistant to HR Personnel so I would still be dealing in HR, but I wouldn't have to answer the phones at all!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE! Wish me luck guys! Cross your fingers for me! I need this job!
ETA: I forgot to add that this goes more along the lines of what my business degree should be used for. I just got it so I might as well put it to use!

Hope you get the job that you want! Health insurance is just plain ridiculous these days!

Celestrina replied: Good luck! I hope things go the way you planned.
My2Beauties replied: Editing that first post - I would retire at 44, it's 20 years and then I'm outta there! Whoo! Sounds even better! I just found this out from two people who have known people to retire from there and that currently work there! OMG the things I could do if I retired at 44! Wow!
mom21kid2dogs replied: I'll cross 'em for you! Good luck.
JAYMESMOM replied: I hope everything works out for you. It sounds like a really good job offer - financially and health insurance wise.

Sunflower04 replied: Good luck to you. I know looking for a new job is tough but I think it is great that you are going that extra mile to look. I know with my job I have been here for 5 yr and I am also a secretary for a financial company and the benefits are high and pay is low. I am just comfortable with my surrounding. Thank goodness my hubbie works for the state and benefits are paid 100%. Keep us posted.
