Exersaucers/ funny

holley79 wrote: Ok first off I was just wondering what is the appropriate age to start putting babies in an excersaucer. Annika loves her Baby Einstien that is on her carseat and I want to get her something she can enjoy. She likes her playmat but it's not as stimulating to her. KWIM?

Ok here is the funny. I picked up Annika at the sitters this morning. (next door) She was bight eyed and bushy tailed. (I was not. LOL) Well I brought her home and had left her in her car seat while I fed the dogs and gave Peanut his insulin. Well I heard her in there squealing so I peeked around the stairs to see waht she was doing. She was grasping the little fish on her car seat toy with her FEET. Talk about monkey feet. I was LMBO. rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif She was having her a good old time. I went to go get the Vid Cam but of course DH let the battery die. I'm going to catch her doing it again. That was the funniest. It's moments like that which make no sleep a little worth it.

PS: When DH gets home I'm going snooze.gif snooze.gif I may not get back out of bed. I can't remember when I was this exhausted. What happen to the day when I could work all day, take a power nap, party all night then do it all over again. dry.gif Does this mean I'm getting old. emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif

rolling_smile.gif Those days seem soooooo long ago!! Hope you get to catch up today though.

I don't remember the specific ages for the exersaucers, but it seems like we had the kids in them once they were sitting up. I could be very wrong but it seems like someone told me until their back and neck muscles are strong enough you aren't supposed to do it. So, basically, I'm not really any help!

eta: I just looked on the web, it says 4months to walking. thumb.gif If the seat is too big you can put a blanket in it to give her more support.

It does seem like a loooooong time ago but it wasn't. rolling_smile.gif

ETA: Maybe if I look things up I will see that the Manufacuters say 4 months and up. I'm a goof. rolleyes.gif

luvmykids replied: It's 4 months to walking ... didn't know if you saw my edited post. biggrin.gif

I guess we were all editing at the same time. rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

AlexsPajamaMama replied: Ya 4 monthes sounds about right. Alex turned 4 monthes old in august on his dad's bday, and we got him an exersaucer

KingMom replied: 4 months sounds right, we got it around colin's first valentines day present. It was a little big for him but we put a baby blanket behind him or a small pillow and he loved it! Great way to get somethings done with him right there wink.gif

Just back away from the keyboard .... fire fingers, both of us! rolling_smile.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I started putting Andrew in his walker with the brakes on when he was 3 months old, with some blankets packed around him because the seat was too big. He loved being more upright. happy.gif

ashtonsmama replied: I found a really some really cute ones, I can't wait until Ashton is old enough...to see him playing like Annika!

How cute!

Brias3 replied: Yep, we had the kids in the Exersaucer once they started sitting up by themselves and had pretty good neck muscle control. I had to "prop" them in with blankets though like Monica mentioned. The seat part is usually pretty roomy for most 4-5 month olds.

CantWait replied: I got Anthony his at 5 and a half months, but only because it was his big Christmas present. Like he knew the difference. It's basically when the can hold themselves (head) up steady.
