Favorite lullabies

Mom2BNTN wrote: I was just wondering which lullabies your kids liked or what your favorite ones to sing to them were.

Dylan isn't old enough yet to have a favorite, but he does like to hear my voice when I sing to him. "Hush Little Baby" and "Twinkle,Twinkle Little Star" are two of my favorite ones I like to sing for him.

PrairieMom replied: I always sing You are my sunshine to the Boy. I change the words a little bit to put his name in there. i sing You'll never know Ben how much I love you, you have been my sunshine today, or I sing always remember, your mommy loves you, you have been my sunshine today.

I am still thinking about what song to sing baby girl, a bunch of you guys suggested the song from dumbo, but I still have to get DH to down load it for me so i can learn it!

Mom2BNTN replied:
I love how you changed the words to make the lyrics more personable. wub.gif

Edward's Mommy replied: I sing songs that I made up for Edward. He doesn't seem to like them as much as he used to because I used to sing them to keep him from crying. But I still sing them to him. I just started singing songs that I made up with his name and when I sing them to him, I move his arms and dance with him. wub.gif

Brias3 replied: I used to make up all sorts of songs when they were infants! As far as "real" songs go, our favorites were You Are My Sunshine, Lullaby and Good Night, When You Wish Upon a Star (not really a lullaby persay but we loved this song and still do!)

luvmykids replied: Theres a song in "Beaches" that I love, I don't know if this is all of it:

Baby mine don't you cry
Baby mine close your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part
Baby of mine

holley79 replied: Annika and my song every night is on the Johnson's Bedtime Lullabye CD and is sung by Barbra Baily Hutchison. It's called "Snuggle Up".

Jamison'smama replied:
That's the Dumbo song--Baby Mine

Jamison'smama replied: Baby Mine
Baby mine, don't you cry
Baby mine, dry your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part, baby of mine

Little one when you play
Don't you mind what you say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
Never a tear, baby of mine

If they knew sweet little you
They'd end up loving you too
All those same people who scold you
What they'd give just for
The right to hold you

From your head to your toes
You're not much, goodness knows
But you're so precious to me
Cute as can be, baby of mine

From "Dumbo"
Music composed by Frank Churchill
Lyrics written by Ned Washington
