Favorite toys - Still playing with them after Christmas?
msoulz wrote: What were the kids' favorites this year? Things for us to consider for upcoming birthdays and next year? Please share along with the child's age!!
For Erin, she just turned 3 in November, this is her favorite, a GloMate:
GloMate
GloMate has become a part of our bedtime routine and she sleeps with it. It doesn't produce heat, a little switch on the bottom changes its color (or makes it cycle through different colors so it can be educational too), and it is tough. There's also a 15 minute timer setting. She just loves it!
Jake is 10 and he got his own digital camera. It's a bottom of the Canon line, and although it looks like mine you can feel the difference in the construction, it does still take nice pictures and has lots of features. There are lots of pictures of his sister on there! And, of course, many self-portraits.
That is the stuff they fell in love with!! How about everyone else's kids?
stella6979 replied: Avery loves her Tigger & Pooh Treehouse, but she plays with her puzzles the most. She's also really starting to get into her Lite Brite.
boyohboyohboy replied: Jakob got the handy manny line of toys..and just loves those.. and also a black and decker weed eater with goggles....he has been weed eating since dec. and loves this thing.
caleb is 7 and he is into star wars and pokemon...of course the cards and all the new star wars ships...
andrew likes his fur real friends.....its a dog that rolls over and barks..he just cant stop hugging it.
I have a favorite too! I cant stop with the animal crossing on the wii..is 35 to old to count as a kid on this thread?
PrairieMom replied: we got a marble run and the crayola thing that glows and you draw on it. Both big hits.
A&A'smommy replied: honestly Alyssa still plays with literally EVERYTHING she is big into toys mostly animals so she got a LOT of "animal" toys and she plays with them all and art stuff she got that digital art studio and plays with it ALL the time
mom21kid2dogs replied: Olivia, who's 8, loves her Nintendo bowling game. She unlocked all the people on it the first week so now she's unlocking people for Stephen & I. She got a HM glitter pen & stencil set that she's used alot and we've played Disney Scene it at least once a day. The only thing that wasn't a hit was the eyeclops. It's fairly difficult to get focused correctly. Stephen & I play with it though!!
moped replied: Tell me about animal crossing????
lisar replied: Lexi plays mostly with her guitar. She loves that thing. And Raygen just plays with whatever is closer to her at the time.
jcc64 replied: As I mentioned in the other thread, the wii Cheer has been a big hit--most unexpectedly with my macho boys!!! They also really like wii Mario Cart and Corey likes her new Nintendo DS gymnastics game.
Kaitlin'smom replied: lets see, she loves her HM guitar she can really rock! loves all her new art supplies, and he favorite by far would be her DS, course its mine to
CantWait replied: Robbie, 13 is still loving his wii, but he got it before Christmas, but Guitar Hero (which he did get for Christmas) has barely been put down.
Anthony, 5 is loving his Leapster 2, and as always all the art supplies he's got, everything from markers, and crayons to clay, and molding kits.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Aiden (21 months) LOVES his talking Handy Manny tool box. Plays with it every day. He also loves his Clipos table, a ride-on Mickey Mouse helicopter, and a game called Animal Scramble (similar to Hyper Dash, only with animals). He is also really into this dump truck his uncle got him. He pushes it around all the time.
Tanner (6.5 years) loves his Nintendo DS (bought it with his Christmas money). He also likes his Crayola Glowstation, his Bakugan stuff, and his Sorry Sliders game he got.
In all, they play with everything they got for Christmas still for the most part. I think it was perfect timing for Aiden because he was growing out of the toys we had for him right before Christmas.
stella6979 replied: I soooo wanted to get Avery that Handy Manny Tool Box, but I decided against it at the last minute. Son of a gun......
BAC'sMom replied: Brand-mp3 Ansley-bead sets Callum-art set
Calimama replied: Train table, Baby Alive doll, and her Smart Cycle (although all she really does is pedal)
She's 2 1/2
A&A'smommy replied: oh I forgot Autumn she literally plays with everything too I have NEVER seen a baby SOOO into toys but she has been since she was able to grab things
luvmykids replied: Macie's is her Dora couch, she sleeps in it most nights Kylie's would definitely be her Hannah Montana guitar game, it's the same theory as Guitar Hero only all HM songs. Colt's is his bb gun or remote control tank.
Mommy2Isabella replied: 2 1/2 and 1 the play kitchen we got them.
We went way overboard and they don't play with half of the stuff we got them, but the surely do play with the play kitchen!!
MoonMama replied: I almost got Braedin one but then thought he might be too young for it still. Darn, oh well.
Brae is loving his Mini Market (a little grocery store with a stand, cash register & money/credit cards, food, baskets, etc). Which I opted to get him instead of a play kitchen.
And then he has this Lightening McQueen he got from Nana, that you move the switches all around in different places and he "walks", drives, talks, and makes different sounds and such.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Well, if it makes you feel better, my mom got it for him and not me. I refused to pay that kind of money for it. I think it was nearly $30 here at the time, and he already has a tool bench in the bedroom with tools. So...I told my mom I wasn't going to pay the money, so she broke down a bought it for him. He does love it though. He brings it out when he watches Handy Manny.
stella6979 replied: Ya, I went grocery shopping the other day and decided to take a look and it was about the same price so I couldn't bring myself to buy it. Her birthday is in April though, so maybe she'll get it then.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Andrew (3 1/2) got a Nerf gun that shoots suction cup darts and he is still playing with that every day - of course it helps that Dh went out and got himself one too so they can both run all over the house playing with their guns together. He also got some matchbox sized Cars cars that he likes to play with... he got a Lightning, Chick and Mater.
Allie's favorite toys seem to be the $5 basket of play food we gave her. She got a play stroller for her babies too and likes that a lot.
Jason's Papa replied: The big hits for my 3 yr old were a personal DVD player (kid loves his Pixar movies) and a bunch of toy car replicas from the Cars movie.
