Feeding 2mth old - How much? How often?

Our Lil' Family replied: I don't remember how much, and Thomas was usually on the lesser end but I'd say every 3 hours...and I'm guessing anywhere from 4-6 oz.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Katy was my only schedule baby (it was all her and also the only way I could possibly tell you how much or when she ate) and at 2 months she went through a growth spurt and went from taking 2 ounces every 4 hours to 3 ounces every 4 hours....
It was only about a month by 3 months she only ate during the day so was taking 4 than 6 ounce bottles. she never took more than 6 ounces at a time and 24 ounces a day.

My3LilMonkeys replied: Hmmm I can't even begin to remember. I know I always fed my kids on demand so it was however much they wanted to eat, whenever they were hungry.

BabyOwen427 replied: I may be of not help either because I bf too. But I think I heard somewhere that a baby should comsume 2 ounces per pound of body weight in a day. So a 10 lb baby should comsume 20 ounces in a day. I don't know if that is right or not again because I bf. It sounds like a good starting guideline though. Good luck.

mommyof 5 replied: i'm new here hope u don't mind me joining in i have a 2 1/2 month old and she eats 6 ounces every 4 or 5 hours she weighed 6 lbs and 7 ozs when born and now she is a little over 11 lbs dr said she was gaining good its so nice when they sleep thru th nite

yeah that would be average...and I wouldn't wake him up unless he is having issues with weight gain

Is he on meds for his reflux? I also b/f but they did attend daycare and they ate 6 oz every 3.5 hours at 6 weeks. Em was a big girl though and Aiden puked so mluch of it that he needed a lot to sustain himself. He had issues with reflux but wasnt diagnosed till aobout a month ago when I saw him puking and swallowing it. That makes me want to kill my dr. Anyways diff story. I had them on a schedule because it worked for us. Otherwise em would decide she was starving at the store and I wasnt that person to sit somewhere and nurse her. I think between 4-6 oz would be good.
