Feeling soo guilty

Calimama wrote: The back of our house faces a deep ravine/canyon thingy. Well we've gotten notices saying that people need to keep their dogs INSIDE at night due to coyotes. I've never seen one, but I figure if the housing district goes through all the trouble to type, print out, and deliver these notices.. than they must have some indication that the coyotes are out there. Our bedroom window faces the backyard, last night I had the window open and I heard a dog screaming. I don't mean like a whine I mean like a full out scream. It was so horrible, and sounded like it was in sooo much pain. It was HORRIBLE. It sounded like it was being attacked by something bigger. I couldn't leave Bella in the house and I wasn't going to take her outside with me to investigate so I did nothing. I still don't know what happened, but I can't get the screams and whimpers out of my head. Whatever was going on.. wasn't pleasant for this dog. I feel like the worst person in the world right now for not going out there.

C&K*s Mommie replied: It's okay. You are right for not taking a baby out, and not leaving her in the home alone.

I am sorry for whatever happened to the dog, but you did the best you could given the cicumstances that it was nighttime and you were alone.

hopefulmomtobe replied: awww, poor thing, that must have been hard for you. I am sorry. You did the right thing, just remember..you cant save the world as much as we want to, you did the right thing by keeping the baby inside and staying with her. Don't be hard on yourself. hug.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Poor doggie. sad.gif

But, your first priority is to your daughter and you did the right thing. hug.gif I don't even know who you'd call in a situation like that? Animal Control?

Insanemomof3 replied: If you ever hear it again maybe call the police or animal control or something to let them know? That really sucks, but it could have been bad if you and bella went out to look. sad.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: Its a good thing you didnt go out bc you prolly didnt want to see what happend any way sad.gif

Calimama replied:
I thought about calling the Military Police, but they don't do animal related incident's unless it involves humans. sad.gif Thanks everyone, it makes me feel little better knowing it wasn't completely my fault.

CantWait replied: There really isn't anything you could have done anyway regardless. Don't feel bad. Sorry. hug.gif

MoonMama replied: Oh sweetie I know that must have been so hard for you. hug.gif sleep.gif But I agree with the others. hug.gif hug.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: As hard as I know it was to hear that dog PLEASE do NOT go outside even if you hear something like that again! Coyotes are not usually aggressive BUT just like all canines all that changes if they are eating or feel cornered! blink.gif You did the right thing by staying inside hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: hug.gif hug.gif I know its a terrible sound to hear when i was pregnant I heard a dog get hit on the road in front of my house (I was like 6or7months along) I RAN out of the house barefooted and try to see if there was anything that could be done right as I got to the road I stopped DEAD in my tracks because I got a funny feeling RIGHT after that another car HIT the dog going at least 70 or 80 miles per hour.... I cried for 3 hours it was horribe!!! My point is even if you COULD have gone outside it would NOT have been safe, so in another words good idea you didn't go!!! hug.gif hug.gif

sparkys2boys replied:
I totally agree with this. Im sorry you had to go through that. hug.gif
