Finally decided on my weaning trip. - Canada Here I Come!!!!!

kit_kats_mom wrote: My DH has been telling me that when Lauren finally weans, he wants me to go do somthing without kids for a few days. Thing is, I've not been away from a kid since K was born 4 years ago. Actually, K spent the night at my moms house twice before Lauren was born but we dropped her off at 9 pm and picked her up at 7am.

I'm a bit nervous about going anywhere without them because frankly, I enjoy spending time with them but I know I need to get away and find myself a bit too. I thought about going with my best friend to her beach house for a few days....but since I've been away from my hometown, she's turned into a bit of a lush and frankly, I'm just not into that so much. One night of drinking would be ok but I'd rather do something else to keep my mind occupied. KWIM?

I was talking to my aunt today and she'd mentioned that my cousin (21) has just moved to Montreal to work on her album. I guess she signed a record deal with someone up there. My aunt really wants to go and was pretty bummed when my mom backed out. I've only been out of the country once (To Vancouver a few years ago) so I'm stoked! I think we will plan on going sometime in the spring. We are floridians and Canada Winter sounds miserable IMO. LOL So, I have some planning to do.

Who could I meet????

CantWait replied: I'm still about 8-10 hours from Quebec, sucks.......have a great time though. Montreal is a beautiful place, especially in the winter.

C&K*s Mommie replied: Have a great time while you are there! smile.gif

booey2 replied: Sounds like fun, but I too am at least 5 hours away with good traffic.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Well if you do end up going to Montreal, I'm only 2 hours away, and I would totally go spend some time with you. (i.e - have a drink! wink.gif )

I'm in Ottawa, which is Canada's Capital. Parliament buidlings, great museums...and the best part of all...ME! (jk! tongue.gif ) Beautiful place...lots to do. What time of year would you be coming? I can't remember if you mentionned in your post... but I can pull up events for you from Montreal, if that's where you're going.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: And Canadian Winters isn't all that bad, honestly. wink.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: We are looking at springtime...Maybe March/April. We will be staying in Montreal because that's where my cousin lives. I'm not sure how long we will be staying but probably at least 4-5 days.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Sweet. Count me in for a meet!
