Finally took a step

maliksmommy wrote: Well I think Malik is going to be one of the last ones walking here, but he finally took a few steps this weekend. I was sitting on the couch and my sister was on the floor with a big pillow and he took about 3-4 steps from me to her and then fell into the pillow. He did it about 5 times it was so neat. We are going to Manhattan this weekend to see all of my family and I would love to have him walking by then biggrin.gif

jem0622 replied: Gabe isn't walking and just turned 13 mos. He will be later than his big brother was. Loves his walking toy though. Any day now. He loves to walk.

juliajaj replied: Olivia is 14 months & isn't walking yet. She took a couple of steps on her own a month ago, but hasn't done anything since then. I'm a nervous 1st time mom, so I called the ped.'s office & they said the age range at which children walk is really big. Some walk as early as 9 months, while others don't walk until 16-18 months. She does great walking with her walking toys & walking around things. All her other motor skills are right on schedule or ahead of schedule, so the ped.'s office said there isn't anything to be concerned with. I've read where the most important thing is not to force them into walking, so we're taking everything at Olivia's pace. She'll walk soon, and then I have a feeling there will be no stopping her.

amynicole21 replied: WTG Malik!!!!! banana.gif banana.gif He'll be jog.gif around a lot quicker than you think!!

MomofTay&Sam replied: WTG Malik!
Savor every minute before they walk. smile.gif Sammy started with small steps at 9 1/2 months, he just turned 11 months and walks everywhere. He can turn and do it all. Pick up things and continue walking. I say savor the crawling because he is now starting to run or dart for things really fast and he hits his head on everything. sad.gif He will be looking at a toy in his hands and walk right into the wall or fridge or whatever is there. UGH It's by far the roughest milestone for me. I can't stand seeing him get hurt.

He sounds like he is right on schedule. What a big guy! He'll be running before you know it!

Kirstenmumof3 replied: wub.gif That's fantastic! Clauida isn't even attempting to walk anywhere, just still hanging on to furniture!

MomToMany replied: Way to go, Malik!! ITA with the others; sounds like he's right on schedule. Some are just late walkers, nothing you can do about it. They will start walking when they are ready!

Exhaustion is the next thing on your list once they start running, so rest while you still can rolling_smile.gif !

mummy2girls replied: jenna will be 1 in 2 weeks and she still hasnt even tried walking....
