paradisemommy wrote: so we are solidifying our plans for our florida trip in march..so far:
march 7, 8 and 9 will be spent in jupiter with my aunt/uncle
10, 11 and 12 will be spent in tampa with my brother and
13, 14 and 15 we'll be staying in kissimee and park hopping
we depart on the 16th at 1pm
with that in mind (having 3 days to park hop) and my kids ages (4 and 1) i need recomendations on which parks to go to.
and also who is close so we can possibly meet up..carrie i think you said you were really close to my brother in tampa and i also have my best friend in land o lakes - maybe we could swing by and say hi??
cameragirl21 replied: i'm 1.5 hours south of Jupiter. the best parks for kids are Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom (if they like animals), Wet N Wild (if they like waterparks and waterslides and wave pools) and Islands of Adventure (if they like Dr. Seuss and pretty much anything, that one's got something for everyone). hope that helps, let me know if you need more info....
lisar replied: Those are all great parks for kids that age. But in March you gotta watch the weather for the water parks. Might still be a little chilly for that here. But the Magic Kingdom is GREAT. I am about 2.5 hours north from there.
3_call_me_mama replied: tammy~ we MAY be headed there that same week and if so we definately have to meet up. I'd reccommend Sea World (if your looking to do somethign outside disney) Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Our kids LOVED teh last 2 and Sea world is a sure bet with most anyone HOPE TO SEE YOU!!!!!
paradisemommy replied: well we are coming from hawaii so waterparks and beaches and such are not really a novelty for us..
so is the rule of thumb, one park per day? is more than one overkill? i figure we really won't be riding TOO many rides..skyler is too young and dh is not a big ride person so a handful for taven and we're good..
MomToJade&Jordan replied: I'm about 3 hours North of the Major Parks, but I can come down for a weekend to see you guys. I'll mark the calender.
C&K*s Mommie replied: You might be flying over our skies here in north Florida. One park a day sounds fair enough. They (your children) might become pooped out far before you do if you visit more then one/day.
Have fun!
amynicole21 replied: I'd say Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Sea World are the best bets. We will DEFINITELY be there if you want us to be
ediep replied: I agree with Amy on Magic kIngdom, Animal kingdom, and sea world! They are the best ones!!! Have fun! We can't wait to go back when Emma ia bigger
hawkshoe replied: I would say Sea World, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Also, Epcot might be a nice choice. Many people overlook that one thinking it is more for adults, but there is a lot there for kids (it happens to be my favorite of the Disney parks).
kit_kats_mom replied: We are just about 10 minutes west of Land O lakes. Give me a PM and I'll send you my numbers when I get home.
Yay!!!!!!!!!!
jcc64 replied: I'm a big fan of Animal Kingdom- much more so than the Magic Kingdom- probably because the MK is always so incredibly over-crowded that by the end of my trip, I deeply despise all of humanity. (ok, maybe a slight exaggeration, but not much, tbh). Thumbs up to MK, though, for being truly impressive for kids the age of yours'. I also loved SeaWorld. I actually would avoid Islands of Adventure. Other than the Dr Seuss area, there really isn't much for little ones to do there. It's more thrill ride oriented- your kids probably wouldn't even be able to get on many if not most of the rides there. Have fun and bring lots of money!
