For SAHM's - What are your plans after the kids

mckayleesmom wrote: go to school? Are you going to go back to work or stay home?

Im probably going to work part time once Russell is in Preschool. Mckaylee will be in school...so. I don't think I want to work full time right away. I want to be able to go on field trips and volunteer in the class too.

LibraGirl replied: I voted stay home. My husband would really rather I not work, although I don't think he'd stop me if I wanted to go back to work.

Boo&BugsMom replied: Back to work. We can't afford for me to not work, but working at home right now seems to be working, although it's not what I want to keep doing. I need adult attention!!!!!!!

kit_kats_mom replied: I'll probably still WAH. It would be tough to give up this job plus I'd still be home when the girls get home from schol, I'd be able to volunteer at the school and have all of the other benefits of being a SAHM but with $$. wink.gif

ETA: it will actually be nicer when they start school since I'll actually be able to work during the day and spend real time with them in the evenings as a family. Now DH and I take turns working at night while the other watches the kids. It's rough

skinkybaby replied: I'll probably go back to work part time so I can still be home with them when they get home from school.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I plan on SAH still. I love volunteering at Maddie's school and they are big into volunteers there. Ethan starts preschool in Sept and that will free up some time. I thought I wanted to go back to school, but it all depends...3 years is a ways away and I wouldn't go back to school until Ethan is in kindergarten.

I'm just looking forward to grocery shopping alone in a few weeks. rolling_smile.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: THE KIDS ARE REALLY GOING TO LEAVE! rolling_smile.gif
I think that I will want to try something different. I dont want to go back to school, but I am also tired of nursing. I want to do something that isnt so stressful as nursing and raising kids!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Probably have a part time job... who knows!

AlexsPajamaMama replied: I plan on going back to school when Alex goes to kindergarten

Our Lil' Family replied: I plan to continue to stay home. Like Aimee I want to be room mom and be very involved at his school.

C&K*s Mommie replied: Once I graduate next yr, I plan to work f/t to get a good feel of that field, and then in 1-2 yrs, I plan to go back to school to expound on the little medical field exp I will have gained, and go into nursing. I want to be available for the girls for school and field trips, but I also want to have schooling and experience in case I need to fall back on something.

Cece00 replied: WORK. Either @ home or outside the house. There is no way I could not work, I'd be bored to tears, even with volunteering & stuff @ my kids school, which I still plan to do, work or not...my job would allow me to do that, field trips, etc or if I couldnt make it, DH could go, or my mom. I currently WAH part time.

ProudMother4857 replied: I would love to stay home, but we just can't afford to right now. But I try not to work too many hours so I can spend time with the kids. After my baby is born I'll probably go back to work in one year. sad.gif

Nina J replied: Plans??? unsure.gif

I'm not sure. I might get a job, working as a shelf stacker at the supermarket has always appealed to me. No, I'm not joking. I think it would be interesting to get all kinds of different jobs, and see what they're all like. Working at a supermarket, cleaning hotels, etc..I'd do them all just to see what it's like.

But, I have a feeling my employer wouldn't like me quitting all the time to get another job. laugh.gif

I'll wait and see when the time comes happy.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: We're plannig to homeschool so IF they ever leave.. LOL I'm going on vacation!!! LOL
Seriously I'm staying home and homeschooling and even if we do P/S at some point, I am a firm beliver that children still need some sort of parent at home in case of emergency school closeing etc (or a reliable palce to go in event of that.. and we don' have any palce they'd go so I'll be here) OH and I'll probabyl still be keeping teh littel girl I watch as her parents both work full time so we'll be her emergency place. It's really neat to see what everyone would do though smile.gif

3xsthefun replied: I haven't really thought it out yet. I thought at first I might get a part time job, but I'm not sure. I guess we will see when the time comes.

my2monkeyboys replied: I am a homeschooler, too, so I will be home naturally. If I were not, though, I would only work part-time max, so I could be as involved as possible.

mom21kid2dogs replied: I'm planning on going back to work in January. I can retire in 8 years with full PERS bennies. Way too great of a deal not to go for!

~Roo'sMama~ replied: We're planning on homeschooling so obviously I'll be staying at home, but if we did do public school I'd probably do child care in my home or something like that, if we needed the money - and I can't imagine us ever not needing money. tongue.gif

luvbug00 replied: I am trying again to start my own company.I've tred to make a busniess out of every craft I know. But i've got tricks up my sleeves and they have yet to be revealed to the world.heee tongue.gif

A&A'smommy replied: I want to eventually open up a photography studio with a place for my kids to hang out at so we can be together.. that would be my dream!!

luvmykids replied: I have no idea, ideally I would like to be in school myself when they are.

Heather77 replied: I'd like to go to nursing school. Once the kids are all in school, I know I'll get bored being home all day alone.
