For Those That Have Quit Smoking - I have a question
Bee_Kay wrote: this got me wondering, as there seems to be quite a few ex-smokers here. I logged onto a messageboard that I frequented a long time ago when I quit for 9 months....
If I hadn't started smoking again, my quit would now be on week 150!!!
How long have you been smoke-free??
amynicole21 replied: 2 years, 5 months... this time
amymom replied: I quit only once, 21 years ago last February. I always remember the exact date in February, but can't right now.
WOW 21 years!!! Go me!! lol
And Barb, you can do it too!!!
kit_kats_mom replied: almost 4 years. Not counting the couple of cigarettes I had when drinking a few years ago. Maybe 5 total. The last time I woke up so sick that I don't even crave them when drinking now.
Ashlynn's Mommy replied: I stopped for 3 year's, and then I started again for about 3 month's. I found out that I was pregnant so I quite again. I have'nt picked up a cigarette since last April.
garrettsmom replied: I quit 6 years ago
coasterqueen replied: The first time I quit it was for 2 years. The second time (and last time) I quit it's been 4 years and 6 months.
Bee_Kay replied: WOW!! Congratulations to you all!!!
Jackie012007 replied: it's been about 4 months for me ... ironically about 2 months before I became pregnant, I just decided to quit... I was sick all the time. Glad I did, because now I am 10 weeks pregnant and crabby and that would have been REALLY hard to quit now!
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I haven't had a cigarette since October 2003. So almost 3 years.
TheOaf66 replied: about 3 months ago officially but every so often when I am hangin with my FIL I will have one or two. I never was that heavy of a smoker, I would have maybe 10 a day. We had a rule though, never smoked in the house etc. Ya get cravings now and then but keep workin at it
holley79 replied: I'm going to be honest here. I started back up. I quit in the beg of my pregnancy then started back when i came back to work. I'll quit again.
ZandersMama replied: Two and a half years! Didn't realize it was that long, quit when I got preggo with our boy.
TLCDad replied: Over 5 years for me. Though on rare times, I've puffed on cigs and cigars... just never inhale except on accident.
holley79 replied: Are you running for President? I'm just kidding.
Bee_Kay replied: Congratulations!!!
If it's no trouble, how often do you get "cravings" for a smoke?
Jackie012007 replied: I find that I get cravings when I see other people smoking... also when I get really upset or stressed out about something... then it's really hard!
