For the mothers with girls

C&K*s Mommie wrote: I am watching the old 1950's version of Father of the Bride. I loved the remake. And it got me to thinking:

Those of us with girls, flash forward 10, 20 years. Do you think you will be apprehensive or as on top of the world as your daughter may be when you find out she is getting married?

I get sad thinking about it even now. Though I think I will be happier than our girls when that day is dawning. I almost cannot wait to do the wedding planning thing with them. wub.gif

Mommy2BAK replied: I haven't and don't wanna think about that for a LONG LONG TIME! blink.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: As long as I like the person they are marrying, I will be on top of the world!!! I LOVE weddings! wub.gif

If I didn't like the person, I would probably be a little bit apprehensive, only b/c I want what's best for them.

kimberley replied: depends on who she's marrying happy.gif i will be super proud and glad to help if the time and guy are right for her. wub.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: That is going to be a tough day for me so I don't usually think about it. It will be a happy and sad day for me.

kayla's mama replied: I don't even want to think about it wacko.gif

Jason said she is never leaving the house and getting married. He's plans on having her on lock down rolling_smile.gif

I truely hope that she finds the right guy. If she's happy I'll be happy. I just love planning weddings and dress shopping.

luvbug00 replied: Umm I really don't know. I think I will be happy as long as he's not a bum.
Brad is another story, he's phycodically overprotective!!! then again arn't all dads??

MamaJAM replied: If my girls (or boys) are happy - I'll be happy. No matter what - I will love and support them and help them in any way they want/need me at that time in their life.

Though - DH and I eloped and we're always telling our kids how wonderful eloping is (not to mention - the expense saved happy.gif ).

MyLuvBugs replied: Well, in 20 years Lorelei will only be 21, so I'd be a little apprehensive b/c I personally feel that's a bit young (JMO), but if I knew the boy I'd support her. I can't wait actually..... wub.gif .......Getting that call or seeing her face when she tells us she's engaged..... bawling.gif .........I already know I'll just break down, but with tears of happiness I hope. smile.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: That is what Chris said. I think fathers really believe that. His words to everyone is that they can double date with us, when they are 38 & can go out on a real date by themselves for the first time when they are 40. rolleyes.gif

mummy2girls replied: ill probably bawl my eyes out... aron i think will be shedding tears as well:)

coasterqueen replied: I don't want to think about it. They are both going to be my babies FOREVER. wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif

luvmykids replied: I can't even imagine them being 10 much less getting married! i think it will be totally bittersweet, you having to let go of your baby and at the same time look at your beautiful daughter and the wonderful woman she has grown into. Ok, I have to stop I'm about to cry.
