For those of you dieting

cameragirl21 wrote: what would you say is your biggest obstacle?
Like for me for example, I have a major sweet tooth and MUST have dessert daily. I've been trying to enjoy jello fat free pudding but i'd much rather have cookies from that cookie place in the mall where they make snickerdoodles and oatmeal scotchies.
I also love brownies, cookie dough and ben and jerry's ice cream.
and cheesecake and eclairs and tiramisu and chocolate mousse.
but then i also crave pasta and especially pizza, that's been my big thing lately.
If you could have anything in the world as much as you want and never get fat from it (like if the calories didn't count) what would you pick?
sweet tooth or no sweet tooth, these days I'd have to go with pizza....
I could live with the fat free pudding if only i could have pizza first.....

coasterqueen replied: Oh gosh, to answer your last question I'm not sure I can pick one thing. laugh.gif blush.gif

I am a pasta, pizza, and sweet tooth freak, too. I find 1 point sugary things though so that helps me...but haven't found any 1 point pasta or pizza. rolleyes.gif (for WW).

My biggest obsticle? Not sure. The scale gets me down from time to time. My clothes fitting so tightly gets to me. Getting hungry between meals when I feel I shouldn't frustrates me. My husband who just eats anything he wants frustrates me. I could go on and on. happy.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I am not dieting..... but I have a weakness for carbos- mainly bread. Especially Kings Hawaiian sweet bread. yummy.gif

I crave sweets every now and again, but I could do without it for the most part. Although a milkshake once every week or two, is where my other weakness lies.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh gosh. I love carbs. I don't care for sweets much at all. I'd rather have salty stuff (which is equally as bad for you dry.gif )

cameragirl21 replied: Karen, I tried WW but first of all, keeping track of points is no fun for me, especially with my on the go schedule, I can't always keep track of how many points I'm eating.
Also they don't let you eat much cheese or nuts, both of which are among my primary sources of protein as a vegetarian so it wasn't good for me.
I tried the South Beach diet but it doesn't let you eat fruit for the first two weeks and I can't live without fruit.
Ever noticed that the word diet has the word die in it...? wink.gif

kimberley replied: i am not dieting as i personally don't think it is healthy but i couldn't live without my rice. been a staple all my life and would starve without it lol.

coasterqueen replied:
laugh.gif Not til you pointed it out. Interesting.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: I am more of a salty than sweet person too Aimee! I can always tell a HUGE difference when I give into those cravings too! (swollen fingers and feet dry.gif )

Our Lil' Family replied:
Chips and dip!!!!!!! hands down my biggest weakness!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: To me, Diet means

Desperately Indulging in Eating Too much

CantWait replied:
Oh Kimberley, you're as bad as my husband. He's all about the rice. tongue.gif

mom2my2cuties replied: Hmmm My biggest obstacle - would be sweet tea and soda...

I normally don't drink sweet tea unless we are out to dinner and soda I went cold turkey on smile.gif So those are over.

For those of you who drink 1 soda (non diet soda here) every day though - I learned something VERY interesting which made me drop my 6-8 soda a day habit like a rock - 1 soda a day = 15lbs over the course of 1 year.

And here I was thinking that my massive weight gain over the last year or so has been because of a car accident since I haven't been able to do the things I used to like coach soccer and work out and stuff.

ETA - Also - I don't care much for sweets - can do DAYS without having sugar and it not bug me ...but I LOVE salty stuff.

My3LilMonkeys replied: My biggest obstacle would be the fact that my hubby is still eating fatty, fried foods and I want them sooo bad....

mom2my2cuties replied: Actually something just dawned on me - My biggest obstical is NOT sweet tea -

It is the fact that my husband is a chef and keeps these dang Goodies around all the time and I am constantly fighting temptation with that smile.gif

coasterqueen replied: You know I think the biggest obstacle for a lot of people is excuses. I'm guilty of this too. I spent 2 hours on the road w/my mother this past Saturday giving me every excuse known to man why she gains weight or can't lose weight...they were ALL excuses, but sure made her feel better about her lifestyle. rolleyes.gif

So until recently excuses were a big part of my "obstacle".

CantWait replied:
Is Iced-tea what you mean by sweet tea??

coasterqueen replied:
I believe sweet tea is with sugar...and IMO lots of it. Dh said when he was in Louisiana and would ask for tea they'd give him sweet tea and he said it was nothing but sugar. BLAH! We drink our tea sugarless and we call it iced tea.

mom2my2cuties replied: I mean iced tea w/sugar. When I drink it - it is usually 1 cup of sugar to 1 1/2 gallon of tea. I don't like it really sweet - but something HAS to take away the bitterness.
