Frustrating family day
JP&KJMOM wrote: First off we don't see one of dh's sisters but about once a year cause they live in Minnesota and us in Texas. But they came down this past weekend and we spent Saturday afternoon with them. Nephew is 6 1/2 (9 days younger than my JP) but is an entire world behind JP in many things. But the biggest problem is that he has an awful temper. He wanted to ride JP's Honda 3 wheeler and I told him he could (he has one just like it at home) as long as one of his parents would come out there while he rode it. He proceeded to scream at me 'My momma already said I could ride it.' I replied very calm that I knew she said he could but I wanted either her or his daddy out there to watch him anyway (big rule we have about kids on our ATV's). He climbed off the 3 wheeler and started yelling 'Did you not hear me I said she said I could ride it' as he walked to go find her and kicked a cup of water on the ground by me so hard it went all over me. I absolutely thought to myself. WOW my kids behave really good. After he walked off JP looks at me and says, "Momma if he is gonna act like that I don't want him on my 3 wheeler". Guess I have done something right somewhere with my son!
CantWait replied: Glad your little boy knows the difference. What a little terror your nephew seems to be
C&K*s Mommie replied: you did, and good for JP to recognize it!
kind of a good thing they are only around once a yr or so, I would not want that sort of behaviour to rub off on my children (not that they are perfect, but that was an extreme temper tantrum).
mckayleesmom replied: What a little butt....he is one of those kids I would probably "accidentally" squirt down with my water hose...
gr33n3y3z replied: Wow with that I agree with your son WTG

That was just one of the many things that happened throughout the day. Once he did get on the 3 wheeler when his mom would try to stop him to get off he would ride farther away from her so he did not have to quit. Even Jason had to get onto him a couple of times for running over tools and stuff in his shop with an old tricycle. Just real glad the weekend is over.
luvbug00 replied: WTG JP!!!! and Good for you I know a coupple parents who would've caved.
TheOaf66 replied: I love to see my son acting like he should around kids that aren't really makes you fell as if you did something right anyways
Bee_Kay replied: WOW! that is a little hot-head!!
ITA with your son..... after that behavior and disrespect to you... I wouldn't let him ride it either.
When kids are here.... our rules are OUR RULES

Ashlynn's Mommy replied: OMG. I would have said something to his mother. What a smart son you have. I wouldn't have let him ride it after he treated you like that.
luvmykids replied: That's a great rule and good for you enforcing it!
It's an awesome feeling to know your kids are actually "getting it", you're doing a great job and wtg JP!!
I had a cousin like that, if you bought a monopoly property he wanted he'd just throw the whole card table over. I couldn't stand him!
BAC'sMom replied: I told you what I thought last night But WTG to you and JP both. Sounds like you are raising one heck of a kid!
