Fun poll
cameragirl21 wrote: What Dee Dee and Rae said in the argument thread got me thinking--I'm considered very spontaneous and impulsive by those who know me. It has its ups and downs--people think I'm a lot of fun but my mom often calls to ask me if I remembered to pay the bills each month because sometimes in the midst of all the fun and no planning, I'll simply forget. Almost nothing in my life is truly planned, I like to go in to things with some idea but try to let things fall the way they will and try to keep an open mind. When it comes to photograhy, I go in with a basic idea but usually let the circumstances unfold and let my creativity have free reign over everything. When things are too planned, I quickly lose interest and focus. Like I said, it has its good side and bad. How spontaneous are you and how much has it affected your life?
lisar replied: I am very spontaneous, I was alot more before I had kids and responsibilities to take care of. When I was a teenager I would just get in my car and go and be gone for a few days. It used to drive my family insane
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I fly by the seat of my pants every single day of my life! I never plan anything and it drives my husband crazy. But, if I happen to plan something in advance, I'm likely to change my mind before the time comes.
The downside? I'm very indecisive and scatterbrained. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really make a huge difference in my life. It's just the way I am. I still get things done, I just do it in my time. My life as a SAHM allows for me to be this way. I make sure the needs are met of the number one people in my life, in no particular order of course, and the rest is fair game.
my2monkeyboys replied: I like a fairly planned out day in my day-to-life, simply bc I have so much going on (the business, house and school). To let everything ride on a whim would mean that not much got done. However, when it's time for a break I'm all for jumping in the car with a few clothes, picking out a place and heading there. We actually were going to do that this past weekend, but couldn't bc of financial reasons. So I guess I need some structure in normal life, but when it's time to play I don't care about it at all.
DVFlyer replied: I like things pretty structured. My wife is the opposite. I don't mind her being spontaneous, but it makes it very hard for me to go along when I don't know what we're doing.
my2monkeyboys replied: My DH has no idea of how to plan anything -- the joke around our group of friends is that if you want to plan something, don't call him. I'm the one that handles all of that stuff, be it small like a dinner get together or big like a vacation. It's not that he's spontaneous really, he just hates the whole planning thing.
HuskerMom replied: I voted somewhat, depends on my mood.
My3LilMonkeys replied: I am a planner for sure, but very flexible about it. I don't mind if plans get changed along the way.
PrairieMom replied: I am a complete and total planner, and I don't tolerate it when things get switched around at all. I really have a hard time with it. I can tell you right now what I will be doing on any given day or time of the week. Mondays at 10 am? I will be grocery shopping. Actually, to be completely accurate, I will be in the 3rd or 4th isle as I will be aprox 1/3 of the way through my grocery trip.
Calimama replied: I'm somewhat spontaneous. I love it when DH calls on Friday and tells me to pack a bag and get Miabella ready so we can go away for the weekend. But I also like organization, routine.. etc.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: My husband, too. When it comes to trips, dinners, etc...he isn't interested in planning. But he likes his days planned out. He's very anal and keeps spreadsheets and thinks I should do the same when it comes to cleaning and shopping. He would love for me to be like Tara, actually. Have designated days/times for certain things. However, he's usually the one that messes my plans up when I make them....so there ya go!
MoonMama replied: This is me too. But I am very much organized and stick to the routine on a daily basis.
