GRRR I am gonna kick the cats butt!

Kaitlin'smom wrote: I am about ready to kick my cats butt she is making me so mad. Okay here it is she LOVES sleeping under the bed in Kaitlins room and would get traped in there at night when I would put Kaitlin to bed, well after the cat woke her up twice I started shutting the door all times to keep her out, you see I would hear on the monitor meeoowww, UH OH, meeeooowwww, UH OH, maybe they were talking I dunno but I would have to get Kaitlin back to sleep. Her teeth are finnaly not bothering her so she has been sleeping really well excet when the stupid cat wakes her up. Well now that I keep the door shut I thougth it would stop WRONG some how she manages to get in her room and get trapped it had happend 2 out of the last 3 nights, last night being one of them. GURRRR I was so mad at that cat and she knew it. I guess after I gave Kaitin her bath and took her in to put her jamies on she must have run in and streight under the bed. I had no clue! So i guess even when I take Kaitlin into her room I am gonna have to shut the door.

anyone have a good way to keep the cat out?

ediep replied: no advice, but I would be so mad too!!!! GRRRRRR!!! mad.gif

MilMunchMOM replied: i know how frustrating that is.

I have the same problem....but with the dog too. The only thing that helps is checking to see if they are in there before I shut the door.

Kaitlin'smom replied: I have done that many time but sometimes I just dotn see her she curls up in this little ball in the corner and you miss her....maybe I will put foil under the bed....

coasterqueen replied: UGH! Glad my cats aren't like that.

Smokey will fall asleep under Kylie's bed and if she wakes up and realizes the doors shut she will just go up and sleep at the end of Kylie's bed. She's never woken Kylie up thankfully.

jen replied: Foil might work! It worked for two out of the three of my cats. Unfortunately Booty thought that it was just a cool bed for him and he would sleep on it!!! LOL! My cat Hazel (she is my Doula laugh.gif ) doesn't want to be shut in the spare bedroom or the nursery so she darts out of the room when you get up! Booty likes to hide mad.gif but I just go in the kitchen and shake the treat can and he comes trotting in to the kitchen! Maybe you could get your cat in a routine to get a treat before bedtime/naptime, and you would be surprised and how quick she would learn to wait in the kitchen for you! Animals are so funny about routine! smile.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: The cat thats doing it does not like treats, and I am in no way going to giver her tuna everynight......but maybe if I have DH open some kind of can she would go see what it is.........but probaly not.

the fild worked on Kaitlins couch, I had to put it on there nightly for about a month and now they dont mess with it, or at least not that I know about ohmy.gif

I will just have to keep the door shut and watch when I open it...

MommyToAshley replied: Grrrrr! Bad Kitty!

But, maybe some day you will look back and laugh at this story. rolling_smile.gif

I don't have cats, so I have to ask... what does foil do? Do cats not like foil?

Julie (jem0622) replied: Install a screen door leading from the hallway to the bedroom. That will keep the cat out. If you need, use the one that has glass on it so the kitty meows won't be so loud and she can't 'pull' on the screen with her claws if she's mad about not being able to come in.

The other option is a white noise machine. Just turn it up and that will drown out the meowing.

Julie

Kaitlin'smom replied:
Honslty I am not really sure I think its something to do with the sound and/or feel of it on there paws.

Kaitlin'smom replied:
Oh dont get me started on that one, that was a MAJOR disscussion/debate in our house....

Oh and she already listned to a sound machine at night, I dont want it any louder than she has it or DH wont be able to sleep.

I just dont think she is fuly asleep when it happens, like she is just about to fal asleep and the cat come out from the bed and meows so she gets up

5littleladies replied: Is there somewhere in the house that you can shut the cat in? When our cats are being a pain I lock them in the basement. smile.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:
rolling_smile.gif dont I wish.... rolling_smile.gif

it is kinda funny hearing Kaitlin say UH OH when she hears the cat meow...

jen replied: Foil is used when male cats spray because they don't like the "splash" but it also works in some cats b/c they don't like the cold or the crinkle under their feet. Just a tidbit of cat ed! ha ha!

kimberley replied: my cat is not allowed in the kids rooms. we chased her out at first but if she persisted we got a water spray bottle. she eventually got the hint. she hates to be wet so she doesn't bother anymore. now she is either under my bed or under the coffee table. just like kids, cats need to know their boundaries too.

Kaitlin'smom replied:
humm maybe I can use that to chase her out....

chloe&tysmommy replied: lol water bottles work great for cats!!! I had to use this on my cat a few times b/c the minute-actually the second I put Chloe down to sleep the cat comes upstairs (from hiding all day) and constantly meows (LOUD)...argh it never fails too. Chloe is a very light sleeper so once she hears something-she won't go to sleep. I can't wait until spring--then he's outside all day smile.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Cats (no offense) aren't the smartest things in the world, well mine wasn't anyways! I don't have any advice for you but I definitly hope that your cat decided getting stuck isn't fun anymore ( emlaugh.gif sorry but I couldn't help but laugh).

Guest replied: I am so glad my cat isn't like that.

mummy2girls replied: I have no idea but when you figure it out please let me know. Im getting that same problem at work. The darn cats they have always get into the room she naps in and wakes her iup.UGH!!!!!!!!!!!
