Gabriel's Party - I survived!

texasp3 wrote: We had a nice party for Gabriel yesterday to celebrate his first birthday. I was worn out from a bad week, and him hardly sleeping at all the night before so I wasn't at my best and niether was he. However, we had a good time with our friends anyway!

I relied on DH and our new video camera for recording the event and only took a handful of pictures myself. Today I played the video he shot and there's a lot of good stuff on there but... ... it's missing ALL THE FOOTAGE of Gabriel smearing himself with frosting, then smearing me with frosting and the two of us ending up a big smudge of sticky green, red, yellow and blue. DH is on a plane back to Portland so I can't ask him WTF???!!! ... I'm pretty bummed about it, frankly.

Anyway... someday in the near future I'll figure out how to work with the video footage we DO have and hopefully have some cute stuff to share.

In the meantime, here's my favorite picture from the day (yes, that's Aimee's Maddie playing with him).

Do what I did - my relatives wouldn't stop (Laughing to hard to type remembering things) bothering me about pictures of I think Nicky smearing into his cake - so I bought another one and I made him do it again! LMAO

I am sorry you don't have the cake footage... maybe your DH has it stored on another tape?

Looks like he had a great time! By the way, Ashley has that same Little People Bus and it is still a favorite of hers.

texasp3 replied: *sigh* DH says he thought he was taping it and that if everything else is on the tape then it was operator error. My bad for not having a back-up - I had a digital camera and a disposable camera and a 15 year old who takes good pictures. What was I thinking?

Oh well... I'll remember it. I told Michael sometimes technology isn't worth the heartache it causes. Last night when I discovered the missing footage I just had to shrug and get on with it because it was just one more thing in an entire week of strange stuff like that. I think I'm supposed to be learning to just enjoy the moment.
