Swood75 replied: I didn't mind it at all with Kam or Kyleigh and I will be doing it with this one in about 11 more weeks..Does your Dr still want you to fast when doing the glucose test?? I was already told mine don't do it that way anymore...I was borderline BOTH times(well on the 1st test each time,the 2nd(3hr) time I was fine) with Kam and Kyleigh so I am hoping this time it is ok the 1st time of taking it..Maybe I will just eat a whole jar of pickles before I go...

No but I did fast because my sister said I had to. My appt wasn't until 2pm. I had a granola bar at 8am and then nothing after that. I told my dr. to hurry it up because I was starving and he said "why haven't you eaten? That's only if you have to take the test a second time."

Oh really??? So I starved for nothing.

Swood75 replied: hmmm...that is weird..I had to fast for the 1 hr and the 3 hr test with Kam and Kyleigh..But like I said the Dr said they don't make you fast for it anymore..When will you know the results??

luvmykids replied: EW, that stuff is SO nasty. I had to take the second test and suffered through it all, then couldn't handle it, ate a cracker, and threw up, blowing the whole thing

What isn't fair though is that my Dr. still makes me not eat/drink anything after midnight the night before. Luckily the test is at 8:30 am, but still -- no morning OJ or nothing.

My Dr. said fasting was up to me. She said I don't have to, but that eating before hand does increase your chances of having to take the 3 hour test. I just scheduled mine in the morning so I don't have to worry about it either way.

Mine is on Tuesday. I'm so glad they send you the stuff home now instead of making you sit at the clinic for an hour after drinking it there. What a waste of time.

DillsMommy replied: Mine wasn't bad at all. I thought it tasted like really sugary orange soda. But my Dr. made me fast, so maybe that's why it wasn't so bad. I was just glad to be drinking something.
