My2Beauties wrote: By my house, and it's $3.16 by my friend's work she said! This is freaking ridiculous - talk about price gauging!
Kaitlin'smom replied: yep same around hear and they are talking ti might go to $4 a gallon in the next two weeks
I am pretty full, but if I find it less I will top off its crazy
coasterqueen replied: It's $3.19/gallon here!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Comparatively, we`re still paying more at 1.14$ a litre.

sucks, don`t it?
mckayleesmom replied: On post there is police directing traffic around the gas station.....its not 3 dollars yet...its 2.65, but its suppose to go up tonight.
Mom2Boyz replied: It went from $2.41 on Monday night to $2.79 yesterday. I havn't been out today, so I'm not sure if it's went up again or not.
kimberley replied: you guys are worse than us in Toronto. we are at about $1.02/L ( about $3.78/G)
Mommy2BAK replied:
I don't even know, What are we at Mel?
TANNER'S MOM replied: Well we were at $2.75-$2.79 but that was when I came to work.. not sure what almost 8 hrs has done to us..
I want to mention that this has really affected my job...
Man.. we can't find trucks to haul our loads. The trucks can't afford it. We are talking about a big truck that gets a lucky 6 miles per gallon of diesel.. Diesel is as high as gas right now.. it has been just a little cheaper... running neck and neck now..
The trucks are wanting huge dollar amounts the customer aren't willing to pay quite yet.. they are trying to hold out. But let me promise you the gas station is not the only place you feel the pinch.. the grocery stores, the hardware stores etc..
The Trucker are wanting close to $4.00 dollars a mile to haul... to cover there gas, and insurance on there trucks and load... when $2.00 a load last week was Ok money to most places?????
And export?? Gulf Port was a huge area of export. I know we exported a lot of food from there.. and let me tell you there were chicken trucks lined up for miles all day long waiting to get there stuff on a boat to somewhere?? Now again that someone is getting nothing.. and you think well keep it here?? Well that will be good for awhile.. but Chicken is one of those things that will go bad.. as does some other export stuff we will be just losing more money...
It will take a while for us to get back on track... the WHOLE nation not just La and MS... this is everyone..
Maddie&EthansMom replied: You are right Mel! It isn't only the gas that is going to be hurting us after Katrina. They are talking about going up on coffee and several other things. It is so devastating.
I heard gas prices are climbing today (more than .37 cents a gallon in most places). I am going to fill up tonight and try to stay home as much as possible.
A&A'smommy replied: I don't know what it is here but I do know if it goes up much more we are going to be be paying over 40 bucks to fill up Its definitly frustrating!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Scratch my other post... it went up to 1.34$ a litre.
~KARA~ replied: Not sure what its up to here. I paid 2.61 monday night. I guess its time to start walking!
5littleladies replied: I just saw on the news a place in GA is charging 5+ dollars a gallon!!!
mummy2girls replied: Yup here it is now going up to 1.24/L... driving home everyone was lined up at every gas station tryign to get thier cars filled because right now its 1.02 but by the end of the day is going up to 1.24/L YUCK!
3_call_me_mama replied: When DH went to work this morning, it was $2.61 a gallon at a store near his job. WHen he left (8 1/4 hours later) it was .......$3.15
What I don't get is why they feel it is right to raise it when they haven't had a delivery? It's not like that gas already in that tank is costing them anything close to that amount, it has been sitting there since their last delivery at whatever amount they paid for it. TO raise the price like that is unjust, hurricane or not. That gas was in that tank before adn they paid prehurricane price for it, so why jack it up when people are already hurting enough?!
huggybugboy replied: Yep I hear you guys. It went from $2.99 this morning to 3.25 a gallon this afternoon!! Luckily I have a gas saver, otherwise I would die!
dolfinrse replied: DH filled up our one car at $2.69/gallon, twenty minutes later I went to the same exact gas station to top off our other car and it went up to $2.89/gallon. All in a matter of minutes. When I got there they still had the old signs up in the station, but the computers were already reprogrammed.
