Gas prices

I'm thrilled to say that I'm paying nearly a dollar less than what I was last time this question was posted. We're lingering around $2.36-$2.40 in the area right now. Bruce and I drove into Chicago last Wednesday to see Eric Clapton and boy, are we glad we filled up before we got there- they were still around $2.98-$3.10 in the city.

C&K*s Mommie replied: We paid $2.45 by the interstate coming back from Tallahassee in Bonifay, Fl. But in my town I think it is around $2.26 (I think). On our way to Georgia today, we say it as low as $2.14!

I heard it was 2.02 in a nearby town

Crystal- we went home this weekend and it was more expensive there than in BR! That NEVER happens, it's always cheaper there. But my BIL got it for $1.98 in New Iberia.

The lowest around here was $1.98/gallon yesterday.

andrew and I were talking about this last night - and he was saying Opec is threatening to raise the price of gas again.

amymom replied: HOLY COW!!!! I paid $2.86 on Saturday, but I did hear that they were going down. My husband got gas yesterday I am off to see what he paid.

ETA: My DH paid $2.699 a gallon yesterday.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: We paid 78.4 cents a litre a few days ago... it's back up to the low 80s now though. That would be 3.56$ a gallon. And with the currency exchange rate today... that would be about 3.05$ USD.

3.05$ for a gallon of gas... pretty cheap in our neck of the woods.

mom2my2cuties replied: Ok - amymom's reply got me to thinking - would you rather them say when they post gas prices that you are paying #2.699 or would rather them just say - YOu are paying $2.70 for gas?

Personally I have never understood the point in the .9 thing..Might as well make it an even penny and quit trying to convince us we are saving a penny.n

ataylorm replied: As Tish said, the expensive stations have it for about $2.36 here, Sam's club after member discount is down to about $2.24. According to the radio it's at/below $2 in chattinuga.

coasterqueen replied: OMG we are usually MUCH higher than most of you and right now we are down to a $1.98!

And yes I did my little when I filled up the other day. I said I would if it got below $2.00 and it did.

For those that have it for $1.98 I'm jealous. I'm so hoping it will go below $2 a gallon here soon!

JP&KJMOM replied: We are anywhere from $2.10 to $2.20 around here.

DH has to buy Diesel though and it is still around $2.45 to $2.55.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Lowest I've seen it here was $2.27 and that was one of the cheaper gas stations. The gas station I usually fill up at was $2.34. I'm hoping it's lower when I go out today.
