Giselle's 2 week ped visit - and the power of breastmilk!

She does have an umbilical hernia (Jaci had one too), and a little bit of a diaper rash from pooping so much. Ped wants us to use a cream at every change, since she said "With the amount of weight she is gaining, she must be nursing and pooping constantly!" She also still has a group of those infant zits in a cluster on her cheek, but they seem to be healing well.

I told her about my forceful letdown concerns, and she agreed that I should burp her every time she detaches, and that should help with the spit-up concerns. But, with her great weight gain she is not worried about it at all.

Giselle has a tiny bit of jaundice in the white's of her eyes, but it appears that the skintone she has is hers. She got daddy's olive skin! I'm so glad she won't be pasty white like Jaci and I!

I'm glad the appt went well she sounds like she's doing great. Goodness knows, I'm jealous of the olive skin though.

My2Beauties replied: Congrats I agree that BM is so great for children! Hanna was 7 lbs 13 oz at birth and after leaving the hospital she was 7 lbs 4 oz, by her 2 wk checkup she was almost 10 lbs She grew like a tree!

P.S. Coming from a pasty one, I am jealous of the olive skin as well.

We are having a "diaper rash issue" right now too. I got the triple butt paste perscription while we were in the hospital and that's not really working either. Poor kids.
