Going in for an u/s at later this morning

coasterqueen wrote: Okay, Dh called and peeved off the doctor's office and demanded we get an u/s today for some reassurance. He also did it because he's supposed to go out of town next week and he doesn't want to do that if there are still issues. So they called me and said they'd do it but that I would more than likely see nothing because it's too early. sad.gif and that I'd just be freaked out even more if that happens.

I went ahead and told them I'd come in but now I wonder (yes, I'm such a freak, lol) if she's right. Will I be even more freaked out if I don't' see anything?

Everything I read says you should be able to see a gestational sac and baby at 6 weeks. I'm 6 weeks 2 days I think, lol. But if my dates are off then they won't be able to see anything for sure, well they'll be able to see the sac.

Ya know I'd just be happy if a freakin' doctor would talk to me but I get the crabby nurse every time. She was so p'eed off that DH called her and when she called me back she was upset and said "do YOU want to call your DH and tell him you are coming or do you want ME?". mad.gif

Ok..so maybe I'm being irrational and paranoid...but come on can't they just be a bit more compassionate or something???? I just don't understand it.

They said they are *working* me in so that pretty much means I'll be there for hours before I'm seen but I'm supposed to be there at 11:40 am. So when I have an update I'll let you know.

PLEASE pray that I see a baby. grouphug.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: smash.gif darn inconsiderate nurse...how rude she is.

I am glad you are getting in earlier, I do hope you get to see the baby, so you can have some reasurance, before the weekend.

Keeping you in my thoughts grouphug.gif

DansMom replied: Here's hoping you can see the little fella! I hope all is well and that you get some reassurance. I don't know why they can't hire friendly, compassionate people at these places. I mean, isn't the economy bad? Aren't there friendly people who would be happy to have the job? Oh well, ignore her and keep us posted!

Guest_angelhair replied: what a rude nurse! I cannot believe it. YOU ARE THE ONE PAYING THEM AND GIVING THEMyour bussiness, so they should be a lot more understanding. I would not want that nurse in the emergency room if I ever came in and they had to save my life. you have every right to expect the kind of care you need and I know of NO other doctors office that would even have a issue of not having you come in right wawy for spotting!!! have you thought about switching doctors? is it just the nurse or is the office and doctor like that to I am just wondering? at six weeks you should see a gastrional sac and a yolk sac. now at 6 weeks you might be able to see a heartbeat BUT THAT IS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE, especially if you calcualtions are off. mine were by about 5 to 6 days which can make a big difference in the ultrasound. if you do not see a baby that does not mean anything is wrong, it could be just to early. they will hopefully also keep the ultrasound or the stage of development of the baby, you may not pick up anything until after the sixth week. everyone is different. yes today you are pregnant and there is nothing to inducate otherwise! am anxious to hear result of ultrasound!!!!! I check to see what is happening

amynicole21 replied: Good for DH for standing up for you! I'm glad you have him on your side. As for the nurse - I might even say something to the office manager about how rude she was. Of course, I wouldn't have the guts to do that, but maybe you would! wink.gif Keep us posted!!

MommyToAshley replied: Ugggh, kindness and compassion should be a prerequisite for a nursing position. I am sorry she treated you this way, that's the last thing you needed.

I hope that you are far enough along to see something at the u/s. Please update us when you get back. I will keep you and your baby bean in my thoughts and prayers.

A&A'smommy replied: smash.gif smash.gif for the nurse grrr and a WTG for dh and ((((BIG HUGS)))) for you! I am sending you LOTS of P&PT'S!!!!

kimberley replied: good for DH for demanding the u/s! it is THEIR JOB to quell your fears and make sure everything is okay with you and the baby. that is what they get paid the big bucks for dry.gif Karen, don't ever feel bad about being "paranoid". nobody knows your body better than you do, so if you feel something is not right, it is you RIGHT to be seen. lots of P&PT for you and your little bean. look forward to your update. grouphug.gif

jem0622 replied: You might only see a fetal pole and no h/b but please don't worry b/c it is too early yet. Thinking of you!

HUGS

ediep replied: good luck!!!

MomToMany replied: mad.gif Oh, I hate rude people like that! I would've given her an earful!!

But you should be able to see the fetal pole and maybe the h/b. I had an u/s at about 6 weeks while PG with Kayla. I didn't see the h/b then, but a week later I had another and I saw it then wub.gif .

I hope the news is good! Waiting to hear from you... wink.gif

Mom2Boyz replied: WTG dh for demanding the us!!!! thumb.gif I hope all went well. wub.gif

catou_98 replied: so did you see a baby? what's happening....let us know! wink.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: Way to go DH! It's awsome that he is willing to stand up for you when needed! Good luck!
