Going to bed later during the summer?

MommyToAshley wrote: Ashley seems to have moved her bedtime back quite a bit... she used to be in bed between 8:00 and 8:30. Now, she won't go to sleep until after the sun sets, which is usually around 9:30. I do have shades in her room that block the sun, but that doesn't matter.

Is it normal for them to go to sleep later in the summer?

aspenblue1 replied: I do not know if it is normal but I know Isabella had pushed hers back about 2 hours.

DansMom replied: It must be normal---Daniel doesn't get tired until the sun goes down. rolleyes.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: Hummm I was wondering the same thing, Kaitlin also is going to bed later, she used to go to bed betewwn 7-7:30 now it at least 8p I know its only a 1/2 hour/hour, but some nights she will stall longer blink.gif

kimberley replied: the boys are the same way.

ediep replied: yup, Jason used to beg to go up to bed by 8pm at the very latest. Now I'm lucky if I get him down by 8:45...some nights even later sad.gif

alice&arik replied: Arik won't go to bed til late either. Usually around 9-9:30, sometimes 10. It has to be dark outside though. Naps are getting impossible too. mad.gif

MomToMany replied: Yep, normal enough! It's next to impossible to get Hannah to sleep before it gets dark! The boys' bedtime has been pushed way back, too. I figure it's summer, it's not going to hurt anything. But once it gets closer to back-to-school time, then they will be going to bed earlier.

mummy2girls replied: Jenna used to go to bed between 700 and 8pm. now im lucky if she hits the hay at 930pm. Where did my alone time go?LOL

momof2girls replied: Yep here too we all go to bed later!

MomToJade&Jordan replied: It sounds like it's pretty normal to me. Jade's normal bedtime is between 10 and 10:30 and it has been that way for a while. We don't change the clocks here either which is a blessing. I know that when I was little I couldn't go to sleep before the sun went down.

coasterqueen replied: When the time changed it took us a while to get back to normal bedtime, but Kylie pretty much falls asleep every night at 8 or 8:30 pm. We had to actually go out and by those cheap roll down plastic shades, though, and put them behind her curtains so the room is completely pitch black in order for her to do this. It's worked very well. Regular blinds didn't work, but these room darkening cheap plastic shades from Lowes did the trick.

3_call_me_mama replied: Cameron used to be between 8:30- 9:30 but lately it's been 10:00 or later! EW end up just going to bed and he talks himself to sleep in the dark because we need to be up early.. but try dragging him out of bed before 8am and it's torture (for us and him!!)
