Going to the doc on Friday, but

Chiflata2003 wrote: wanted some thoughts. Sunday and today I will start shaking until I eat something and both times it happened around dinner time. Today I felt so bad that I was actually crying. Felt better after I had food. Anyone have an idea what this can be?

Edward's Mommy replied: You might be hypoglycemic.

ETA: Or pregnant???? wub.gif baby.gif

holley79 replied:
I was thinking the same thing. Make sure you let the Dr know. Try maybe eating a little earlier or maybe snacking a bit to ward of illness. dunno.gif The only type of diabetes I have had to deal with is K9. I know when his BGs drop off then I have to give him something to bring them back up, something like honey. When they are too high, well let's just say that's a whole nother ball game.

NEWMOM05 replied: Sounds like Hypoglycemia to me. Low Blood Sugar. Opposite of Diabetes, but just a step down from it from what I hear. Hope you get to the bottom of it. hug.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: hope you get some answers on Fri. KUP!

Chiflata2003 replied: Thanks I'l be sure to mention that.

ashtonsmama replied: Hypoglycemia...sounds like it for sure...
Good luck-that's a little scary...

jcc64 replied: Low blood sugar- happens to me once and awhile. Stave it off by eating smaller meals more frequently. I think it happens to alot of people- at least a lot of people I know.

b&bsmom replied: Not sure. Hope the doc has some answers for you. Feel better.

kayla's mama replied: Sounds like low blood sugar. KUP

CantWait replied: Yup, happens here also. Try and have sugary snacks like fruit in the middle of the day or between meals.

redchief replied: I think you definitely need to see a doc about it. Definitely keep that appointment. Could be hypoglycemia... Could be other things too. Are you diabetic? (I'm assuming you aren't since in that case your symptoms would not be surprising to you and you would have checked your sugar levels).

You should bring with you a list of all of the food and drink you'd eaten on the days when you had symptoms, any medications you take, including vitamins and supplements and the activities you were involved in.

Since blood sugar levels are reliant on food and drink intake and activity, those things will be important. There is also a type of non-diabetic hypoglycemia that can be caused by a reaction to food, alcohol, stress, medications, etc. called "fasting hypoglycemia." There's another type called "Reactive Hypogllycemia." The causes of that one are under medical debate, but existence can be confirmed after ruling out others with a blood sugar level test.

Caffeine could cause your symptoms. There are other potential medical causes too.

Brias3 replied: Hmm, is it a sugar-related thing? Sometimes, when I need some sugar in the body, I get very shaky. Hope you figure things out hug.gif

luvmykids replied: Good luck at the doc, I get that too. I agree with Ed, keep track of when and what you eat, it may help the doc a lot. KUP. hug.gif

kimberley replied: sounds like low blood sugar to me too. let us know how it goes at the doc and hope you feel better. hug.gif

EvesMom replied:
