Got a phone call yesterday - that freaked me out!!!

Mel did not help I called them back and found out he did have a SEVERE case of food poisoning-a bacteria called Camphlobacter-they were concerned because of the amount of growth he had and there are 2 secondary infections that can be brought on by this. The good thing is person to person transmission is almost unheard of. The state wanted the names of the resturants he ate at for the past 10 days and the locations. So all in all it turned out OK the hospital is supposed to report cases so the state can determine if there is/was an outbreak of a particular strain of illness. But that voicemail sure had me for a minute there!
Crystalina replied: That would give you a good scare for a minute.
amymom replied: And how is Bill doing?
I am glad the state is following up!
C&K*s Mommie replied: Good to know that it is not a person to person contractable virus. That would have me a little worried at first, too.
kayla's mama replied: That would freak me out too. Good thing that it doesn't pass from person to person.
So, how is Bill feeling?
CAMSMOM1 replied: I guess the good news is that it wasn't E Coli like you thought. But thinking that he could get that bacteria and food poisoning is scary. Is he able to eat yet? What are they going to do to treat him? Are they changing his medications now? Did you figure out where he got the food poisoning from? KUP.
I hope Bill is doing better. I've been thinking about you guys alot. And I hop dispite all of this, you both can still enjoy your anniversary today.
TANNER'S MOM replied: I finally get to use that one! I have so been wanting too!
I am glad Bill is Okay Ab! But I couldn't resist using a little humore to cheer you up.
Now start telling him to say no to Goat.. it is not his friend! No matter how many times it says ..Biiiiiii lllllllllllllllllllll baa aaaa
~~*Missi*~~ replied: yeah that would have freaked me out alittle.
I know when i had hep the state called all my friends everyone i was in contact with and i was stuck in the house for weeks. It was so horrible. I was treated like i had the plague after it for months by certain people. One of my friends idiot parent wouldn't let me pee at her house or in. Even thou i was no contagious !!!
redchief replied: A very good friend of mine had a similar call after getting sick on his return from Florida. He had shigella. Apparently it comes from human fecal bacteria on uncooked food. The health department asked for a list of all the places he ate at where there was uncooked food such as salads and fruit. He'd eaten at several but remembered their names. The FL Dept. of Health found the offending establishment within days and shut it down until they cleaned up their act.

NEWMOM05 replied: Hope he feels better. Glad it's not contractible.
gr33n3y3z replied: I'm so glad he is on the mend
punkeemunkee'smom replied: Thank you for asking! He is getting better slowly but surely. He says he is ready to try his stomach out and have a steak this weekend! He did say though it will be COOKED all the way through... Even though this illness isn't usually in beef we learned valuable lessons in food safety!
punkeemunkee'smom replied:
Well then don't send us anymore!
MommyToAshley replied: I would have freaked out about the call too. But, I am glad to hear that the state is taking this seriously.
Glad to hear he is on the mend, poor guy.
